Subz 550 drain tube keeps freezing up, causing water to spill onto base of fridge and freezing

i know this is late but there's a heater kit made for this 4202160 is part number, you remove the shelves, you can put a mark under the shelf arm on the far outside where the shelves hook on so you can put them back in the same spot, then remove the light cover, the two screws and metal cover and then pull the wall off and set it to the side ,the drain heater kit plugs into the wire harness, the heater will heat up and keep drain from freezing, you can slide the tube off, stick a screw driver in to hold it down to the floor so you don't burn your hand and blow hot air into it with hair dryer to melt out ice, keep heat on for like 20 to 30 seconds then cold air or remove heat you don't want to mess the hose up from overheating wait a bit and hit it again until you melt out the ice, then i use a long plastic wire tie to stick into drain hose to clean it out, some nasty stuff in there,i use a steamer to clean the line out and then i have a piece of 1/4 inch plastic water line to snake into the drain,if this is the first time this has happened you don't need the heater kit, just clean out the tube and metal drain trough, also clean the back of the top crisper drawer shelf, crumbs and stuff can get in between the back wall and the top shelf and then will fall into the drain,if you keep that area clean you won't have to many issues and keep the fridge a little warmer so it doesn't freeze up the water in the drain tube, put the drain tube back onto the trough and pour hot water into it,if it drains down you're done if it's still blocked get a turkey baster and push hot water down into the drain tube to clear it,if it still doesn't clear remove the bottom kick panel, you'll see the drain pan and look at it because you have to get it back the same way in the clips then you can see the drain tube, stick a plastic tie up in there to clean it,sometimes there could be dust or something in the drain pan, when the water hits it it can get into the bottom of tube and block it but i've only had to do that once, hope this helps you out.

Subzero freezer not freezing

this subzero freezer compartment did not free, but stayed cool. The problem was that defrost limit switch went bad, so when it was going to defrost cycle heater never came on, so it builded up snow and ice on evaporator coils and air stopped circulate. I replaced that little thermostat, and melted down ice.

Where is the drain, and how do i get to it? model rf26vabwp it has french doors

remove all the drawers and unscrew the frame that holds the drawers. Free the the drain tube (need to unscrew the clamps that hold the tube to the back wall). Pull it up from the bottom hole where it drains into the pan and free it from the top drain pan. Most likely it's plugged with **** and fungus and yecchy stuff. Clean it out and reinstall it.

Why does subzero refrigerator door closes tight

It's a big door. You should check the refr drain. If that's blocked it will be harder to open than normal.

Frost on back of refrigerator,

Just frost or a puddle? If it's a puddle cause by melting frost with no where to go then you had my problem. A clogged drain. First defrost the drain, a hair dryer works well, blow or snake it out then install the factory drain heater fix. Plugs right in and works like a charm. I've had my sub zero 550 for more years than I can remember. I'd buy another one in a minute. Good luck!

What is causing my sub zero moled 590 , made in feb 93 to gradually warm up?

yeah vacuuming behind the fridge is a good start this will help the fridge preform better as when dust builds up on the condenser it will cause the discharge to be hotter than it should be making the cooling in the case not as efficient. i would start by removing the pannel in the fridge and seeing if any ice is on the evaporator

HI,Is this on the 315I unit? The only way is to remove the cabinet, not easy but very possible and time consuming. If you have never done this, I would seek assistance by calling someone out. This job takes less than 2 hours to complete assuming there is no other issue with this unit at the time of service.I hope this helps. This job is difficult to walk someone through on the computer and the phone. No simple access. I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gere_bf68e6055dd61249

Sub zero bottom freezer stuck and will not open

ice maker could have flooded over or the drain for defrost water is blocked and water is leaking into freezer.you have to shut down the freezer until you can get the door open parcially and then melt out the rest with a hair dryer, also shut off the water to the fridge in case it's from the ice maker and then find out where the water is coming from,if it's on the left side it will be from the ice maker,if it's on the right side it's the drain,if it's the drain you can buy a heater kit,a little tricky to install, you have to snake a piece of fishing line down through the tube to snake the heater into the drain and then wire it in so the heater will keep any ice freezing in the drain again,it comes with directions part number 4202160.you might want to call in a tech for this unless you're handy fixing things, but first find out if it's the drain or the ice maker

I just bought a house

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

Ice maker not working. not making ice.

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
