ICE MAKER STOP MAKING ICE

not a whole lot of info to go on, so you'll have to check: your water filter if you have one; check the pressure of the water going into the fridge, you will h ave to disconnect to check; check the fill tube going into the icemaker, is it frozen/ if so, your solenoid is bad; does the icemaker cycle on its own?; are your temperatures good? if your freezer is above 15° F the icemaker wont cycle.

You need to unplug your unit for 24hrs. You need to clean out the fins with air compressor and vacuum. This has worked wonders for my 550.

Inside the refrigerator underneath the vegetable

The drain opening is inside the freezer compartment (in the rear) so you need toremove the back and maybe bottom panels (inside the freezer), or you mey be able to access this hole from the back of frig if the drain tube is located outside the unit (in the rear). The best way is with pressurized air ( not a coat hanger wire). The drain heater (if so equiped) can only be accessed from the freezer by removing the panel(S). Good luck, macgivor

Lights do not go on when the frig door is open.

Most appliance parts stores will look up the parts for you if you can provide model and serial numbers. For SubZero parts I use www.reliableparts.com. A good place where you can also see pictures of most parts is repairclinic.com

I have a sub zero model number 550....the freezer

You have a pluggeed drain line. You have to turn off your freezer for a day and leave the door open to dry this out before you work on this problem Unscrew the light bulbs so they don't stay on. To repair this you have to remove the evaporator cover to get at the drain tube. The evaporator cover is held to the freezer ceiling by several screws. Usually two covers come off. Make note of which screws go where, as some models use different size screws. The right side of the evaporator cover is usually silicone sealed and you will need to cut this with a razor knife if it doesn't peal off. Once the cover is off you will see a drain hole on the upper right hand side wall of the freezer. Their are several ways to clear this out, I use a pump up garden sprayer to shoot pressurized hot water through this line from the top and from the bottom of the drain line. To get to the bottom you need to remove the bottom kick panel(two screws) and remove the condensate pan. Note how the pan sits and how it is hooked in the front. You can then see the tube coming from the freezer and you can shoot water through this tube with your sprayer. I sometimes use a smaller plastic tube or a semi fexible wire to run through this line to clear it out. Don't use a hard wire as you don't want to poke a hole through this plastic drain line. Once you have this cleared out you need to clean off all the silicone sealant off of the cover and the side wall. Once everything is clean and dry you must reassemble the evaporator cover and silicone seal it around the drain line. I usually put some sealant on the cover around the drain and some more on the wall before I put the cover on, and then touch it up once it is reassembled. Be careful that you don't get sealant into the drain tube. Let the sealant cure for a day and turn ;your freezer back on. In rare instances the insulation around the drain line in the wall has gotten water in it and has frozen. This destroys the insulation and the drain line will keep freezing up. If your freezer keeps leaking water you will have to buy a drain line heater that Sub-Zero has come out with as an after market repair part. It has very good instructions in how to install this heater into the line to keep it from freezing. Good Luck Appliance Specialists

Ice keeps forming inside on the back panel of mysubzero model 550

If the ice is on the back panel especially a block of ice in the middle left part of your panel, then you have a sealed system problem. Check to make sure that your condensor coils above the refer are clean, and if it continues to have an ice block then you have to have a technician come out an do a major repair. This is not something you can do yourself, most subzeros have a 6 to 12 year sealed system warrantee that covers either all of the repair or just parts. This is an expensive repair if it is not warranteed, but when the refers cost 8000 to 10000 new it is usually well worth it. Most often it is the result of a slowly leaking evaporator, though most inexperienced technicians replace the compressor first, so make sure you use an experienced Sub-Zero technician. I have a 550, freezer on bottom. The problem is

Hello. yes you will collect condensation in that area due to the colder temp. from the freezer below. You should have a drain hose of some type located in the fridge compartment. If you can get to it, there may be something over or in the drain line.I don't know if you have excess to a compressed air tank that you may have or know someone who may, but if not and you find the drain you can try and run warm water to clear this line. It will drain into the drain pan under the unit. You can also buy cans of pressure used for different things.Depending on the size of the blockage, will depend on the amount of pressure you need to blow it free. We use pressurized Nitrogen to do this, but this wouldn't be an option for you. You can always pick up a air tank that comes complete with a hose and nozzle you can fill with air to do this job and use it for many other things around the home at an auto parts store. Just food for thought. It would be worth trying if all else fails. Please keep me informed as to what is happening, and I will be more than happy to help. Best of Luck,Sincerely,

My ice maker is letting too much water go into the

The icemaker produces small cubes if the water fed into it is not enough and lumped together if too much water is supplied. In order to obtain the desired size of ice cubes, the amount of water supplied to the ice maker needs to be adjusted. Adjust the valve supplying water to the icemaker or the unit in general in such a way that right amount of water fills the ice tray.
