Samsung RS265LBBP Side by Side Refrigerator Questions & Answers
I have a new Samsung
Push and hold power freeze and power cool simultaneously until display flashes. Release and leave alone. You just reset the brain on your display. In an hour or so, reset the desired freezer and refrigerator temps. My suggestion, -6 on freezer, 44 on refrigerator.

Samsung RS265LBBP Defrost Thermostat
Try to check the thermostat by heating slightly with a hair dryer. It should give an open circuit once heated slightly. Have you checked the heater. You may have an open heater. Ohm out the heater it should give a reasonable low ohm reading. If the heater measures in the k or m range it is bad.
one other thing to answer your initial question. The thermostat is likely not the cause. If you have continuity that means power can go to your heater circuit.
Good luck
