They make a special antenna that mounts on the the mirror mount for the big rigs. You need a big antenna, as the regular one isn't going to work very well on a big rig. Many full service truck stop stores have the big rig antennas. Try that first. You might have better luck with XM than Sirius too,

Are you missing the center pin, by chance (which often snaps if the plug isn't lined up correctly or if you wiggle the lead to connect or disconnect)?
I fixed mine by inserting a 1.5CM piece of very thin but stiff copper wire into the dimple. You may have to 'coax' it a bit with needle nose pliers.

My receiver comes on and I get the error message
First...you still need a sirius antenna plugged into the device. If you just started using this you may just need to resend the signal. Just call the sirius/xm people and follow the recorded prompts to send a new satellite signal. Then make sure you are parked somewhere that it is receiving a good signal and wait. It could take up to 30 minutes to reset completely.
My sirus radio displays
I had the same problem. If your radio is a kit and not factory installed in your vehicle it could be the magnetic antenna on top of your car. I had mine for about two years and from moving the radio around, or docking and undocking it, the wire from the antenna broke. It was not cut all the way through but it was enough to cause it to loose the signal. Check your antenna where it plugs into the back of the unit.

Tune to channel "0" that is your ESN ID. If you had it previously running, they should have it on your account and be able to retreive it for you. Hope this helps. If you need further help, post a comment and I can help you further.
I have a Siriusconnect Home Tuner and an XM Ready Receiver.
Not gonna work, sorry to say. You need the little two-piece "XM Ready" tuner unit (with antenna) to plug into your XM Ready receiver. Sell the Sirius Connect Home Tuner and buy the XM unit. XM unit still available at some Best Buy stores.

Tuner needs to be replaced. Where the antenna is input into the board, it has a bad solder joint. If it's older than a year that's the problem. It has been a BIG! issue with SIRIUS & XM. Sorry for bad news but I hope this helps.
Sirius radio says to call 888-539-subscribe
Umm.. Call the number?
Sounds like the subscription is out.
Could be clerical on their side, could be any number of things. But that's pretty simple. It says call the number, so call the number.
They may not be able to speak to you since you're not the account holder, so you might need to have your sister call, in which case, provide the serial number of the unit to your sister and have them call.
How do I get to channel 210? When I turn the knob
Channel 210 is MLB Home Plate, which is part of the "Best of XM" package. If you haven't subscribed to Best of XM, which costs extra on top of your Sirius base subscription, then you cannot receive that channel.
Additionally, only certain radios are "Best of XM" compatible.. The fact that your car is a 2009 model.. While I don't know what radio it has in it.. I would assume it is a newer model radio that does have Best of XM capabilities, so the problem is most likely that you do not have the Best of XM package.

Sirius Receiver goes silent and displays Acquiring Signal.
I have a 3 year old Sportster 2 replay unit that worked perfect until 1 month ago. I posted my problem on this website a day before you did with this same problem. I googled to no end and even spoke to Sirius who wasn't willing to replace my unit at no charge since it was out of warranty. I found an unusual solution on the internet that worked for me. I place my receiver in the freezer for at least 20 minutes (this was recommended by a guy somewhere on the internet with the same problem). I have actually left it in freezer overnight too. This has solved my problem. It is the craziest thing but I thought I would try it before I resorted to replacing all my accessories and receiver since Sirius was less than cooperative with the issue. Anyway, hope this helps.
My sirius car antenna cable got cut by the trunk
If your antenna cable has been cut or severed, it can be repaired without the need for a replacement.
You will need the following things:
Small 600 degree soldering iron and solder.
Liquid flux for soldering the braid.
Small sizes of heat shrink tubing.
Small heat gun.
Small pliers, cutter, and Xacto knife.
1) The first step is to use the Xacto knife to cut both ends of the antenna cable so you have a clean end.
2)
Using the Xacto knife roll the cable on a board and gently cut all
around the cable to cut the outer insulation. Remove about 1/2 inch of
the insulation from each end.
3) Push the braid back to expose
the center wire and gently roll the cable and cut the center insulation
to expose about 1/10 inch of the center wire. With your small long nose
pliers, bend the center wire into a small hook shape.
4) Repeat all the above steps on the other end of the wire.
5)
Put a 1 inch piece of heat shrink tubing on one end ( the black piece),
and a 1/4 inch piece of heat shrink (the white piece) on the center
conductor. Look at the picture to see this.
5)
Hook the two ends together. Gently squeeze the hooks closed and solder
them together. Be very careful when soldering this. Be quick so you do
not apply to much heat and cause the heat shrink tubing to shrink on
the side where you do not want it to be.
6) Slide the small
white heat shrink to cover the cooled solder joint you just made and
use the heat gun to shrink the tubing in place.
7) Now
push the braids back together to cover over the connection you just
made. Try make the braid smooth together by GENTLY rolling the cable
between your fingers. Carefully solder the braid. A little liquid flux
on the braid prior to soldering helps the solder flow and makes it look
better.
8) Slide the final piece of heat shrink tubing over the braid and shrink it with the heat gun.

Sirius Antenna
You may have to go to your nearest electronics store or Sirius vendor to see if they have an extension cord...as a Sirius customer i never seen one though......Your best bet is to remount the antenna to the forward part of the roof, towards the windshield.
