My television was on this
Unfortunately from what your are describing the problem will be in the main power section of the tv. This means a trip to the repair shop.
The actual problem could be fairly simple but the real problem is how much will it cost to get it fixed. So you need to figure out if you have any warrenty either factory or extended store. If you do then get it to the shop. If not covered You need to do a few things first. You want to know what the replacement cost of a new tv is, and then you want to start getting a few repair estimates. If the repair costs are too high you get a expensive used unwarrantied tv that may break again. The hard part is figuring out at what point you need to just junk it and buy the new one if the value of the repairs is less than the new one. That's really your only reference if it is worth repairing. It is definitely repairable but there is no sense spending $400 for a new main board if the new tv is $450 as an example.
If you can find a good repair shop that actualy repairs then the repair cost can be cheap. Unfortunately a lot of repair shops just swap out boards so you spend $400 for a new board when the problem was a 50 cent part.

My 19" tv will not
Hello
First check its speaker for any damage. For this place your ear very near to its speaker side of the TVs cabin, and switch on the TV with its power switch, and listen whether there is any sign of sound like a "thumb". If it is there and there is no sound output, either your settigns for sound or the sound output IC inside your TV may be faulty. If ther is no "thumb" sound at all, the speaker has damaged. Replacing the speaker, in this case, will solve your problem. If there is a headphone socket at the front panel of your TV, connect a headphone to it and listen whether there is sound coming through it or not. If there is sound through the headphone, and not from the speaker, headphone socket is fauty. Replace it will solve your problem. If there is no sound from headphone also, Output IC inside your TV is damaged. Replacing that IC with same type and number will retify your problem. Take a look at the settings also. If in the settings mute is in ON position, there will be no sound from the speaker. Check all these. If you need anymore assistance, feel free to contact me through Fixya. Ok.

The buttons on the tv
Hi,
There's two things I ask that you do to get further help on this.
1 - Try all possible inputs and see how many of them don't work.
2 - Post the model number of your TV.

I am taking care of
Hi:
No that does'nt have anything to do with reception, First go to menu settings and make sure you select Air for the input not cable, Also depending on where u live all channels now are broadcasted in digital so she may need to purchase a HDTV antenna instead of regular rabbit ears. Do a auto scan for channels and the unit should inform you of all avaiable channels it picks up.

DVD stopped playing in
The clicking is the sound of the laser head being moved across the disk. Since the head is moved and the disk is turning then the laser head has developed a fault in the control of the lens . This is unfixable, the entire optical unit will have to be replaced. Luckily it's a standard PC IDE unit, that can be bought for less than $30 at all pc shops. The only complicated stuff is the replacement operation itself: you will have to dismantle the tv to do it.

Memorex 19" MT1195 sound buzzing
May be mistuned. Retune again. Adjust antena positions. If the TV has multisystem, turn on system status to auto, by getting into the menu.

HI,I HAVE A 32 INCH
If the lamps are not broken in pieces it is more likely that you may ahve 24vdc power supply problem or backlight inverter problem.
www.lcdparts.net
Please read my to understand how LCD TV works.
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:
