Your belt may be broken, check that the belt is still in place. If the belt is okay, your vacuum may be in the upright position, this vacuum the brushes only spin when the vacuum is in the declined position with the pedal indented. If the vacuum is not in the upright position, turn off and unplug the vacuum. Check the brushroll for any clogs or foreign objects lodged in there that would trip the safety. There are a few things you can try before determining there is a clog or broken tank. Make sure both water and formula tanks have enough liquid in them, make sure the tank is seated correctly. If both are good, try turning the machine off, reseating the tank and restarting again, the pump may have lost prime. If none of these work, you may have a clog or crack in your tank. Your solenoid that activates the hand unit is most likely burned up. Bissell 2X machines generally last 4 to 6 uses and a solenoid burns up. This is the only machine that we do not offer repair service for in my store. It is a terribly poor quality design. BTW, the brushes aren't supposed to turn when the machine is in the upright position.

Check the dirty tank for proper assembly and how full it is. There is a red float ball in there that might be stuck closed.

I think you are referring to the stair/upholstery tool. Attach the hose to the machine...turn the pump and vacuum on and use....liquid is dispensed when you squeeze the handle on the tool.. Regards. Dennis

There is a rotating switch in the front of the machine. it's marked

There should be a line for water and a line for the cleaner. You mix them together.

the tank rubber grommet is missing or leaking the vacuum or its not seated well

get a pin n gently put in the holes where water comes out of and try it.could be clogged up
