Amana wash machine has a slow leak around pump.
Hi
When you fix a leaking water pump on your Amana washer, you only have two possibilities--removing the obstruction within the pump ports causing a clog, or replacing the entire pump. The water pump connects under the motor in the front of the washer. Remove the motor assembly to gain access to the mounting bolts for the water pump. No repairs other than removing an obstruction are possible.
Check the bellow instructions as to how to remove Water Pump…..
First power off the unit. Turn off the water supply at the spigots on the wall. Remove the screws securing the lower access panel to the front of the washer with a nut driver. The screws are on the bottom edge of the access panel near the floor. Pull the access panel away from the washer. Remove the screws securing the front panel to the washer with the nut driver. The screws are on the bottom of each side of the front panel. Place a shallow container under the right side of the water pump where the hoses connect to the pump. Loosen the clamps on both hoses with a Phillips-head screwdriver and pull the hoses off the water pump ports. Lay the ends of the hoses into the shallow container to catch any residual water. Check the inside of the water pump ports. Often a sock or other piece of small clothing will find its ways to the water pump port. When this fabric clogs the port, the water will leak around the pump. Remove the obstruction and reassemble the washer. If there is no obstruction, the pump must be replaced. Grab the top of the idler spring that connects to the motor and the edge of the tub with your fingers. The spring is on the left side of the motor. Pull up on the spring to unhook it from the tub. Reach your hand under the left side of the motor and roll the belt off the large pulley. Locate the wiring harness on the left side top of the motor. Grasp the end of the harness connector and pull the harness away from the motor. Remove the bolts securing the motor bracket to the bottom tub flange with a socket wrench. Pull the motor assembly out of the washer. The water pump mounts to the bottom of the motor assembly. Turn the motor assembly upside-down so that the pump is facing you. Notice the configuration of the washer belt around the motor pulley. You'll reinstall the belt exactly as it is now. Remove the bolts securing the water pump to the motor with a socket wrench and lift the pump from the motor.
The next steps will be to install a new pump…
Position the new water pump over the motor assembly. The belt should go around the rear pump leg. Secure the pump to the motor assembly with the retaining screws.Turn the motor assembly over and set the assembly into the washer. Secure the motor assembly to the washer tub flange, using the retaining bolts. Only hand-tighten the securing bolts at this time.Reach under the motor toward the tub and position the belt around the large pulley. Hook the idler spring to the bottom of the tub. Tighten the motor securing the bolts to the tub flange with the socket wrench.Push the wiring harness connector back over the motor terminal on the left side of the motor. Push the two pump hoses over the water pump ports and secure the hoses with the retaining clamps.Position the top of the front panel under the top panel edge and secure the bottom of the front panel to the sides with the retaining screws. Place the lower access panel into position and secure with the retaining screws. Lastly plug on the unit and the water supply.

Spin cycle leaves clothes too wet
Hi, you need to clean out your outlet filter; this needs to be done
periodically - according to your usage. If this does not solve your
problem check out your outlet pump. Plug off the wall first before you
do the jobs. The machine will not drain water if the outlet is clogged.
Take care
Leaking washer
Sounds like the tub seal had gone bad. This was a common problem with these models which cost around 250.00 to fix.
Belt broke and now I need to replace but can't find instructions!
Hi,
I'm tipping my hat at your willingness. You can do it!
First, if you haven't done so already, get your make, model number and serial numbers to get the correct belt at an apliance parts store.
For the job:
1. Unplug the washer from the wall AC outlet.
2. Turn off your hot and cold water supply valves.
3. Remove the supply hoses (I prefer from the washer side and I use channel locks to grip the hose connectors). It might be a good idea to mark which hose connects where, before you disconnect. Then unhook the drain hose. There may be a little water spillage to clean up later.
4. If you have a dolly and available space, pull the washer out and locate it to a place where you can carefully lay it face down. You might place a small door rug to lower the face onto to protect the paint.
5. Now with the bottom exposed, you can probably determine any access requirements to the belt and the belt routing, easily enough. place the new belt on the tub and motor pulleys. You may need a pry bar or sufficient tool to pry back the tensioning pully while you load the belt onto the pully.
6. Stand it back up and reinstall... after you clean... ha.
Please note, this is a generic instruction as I am not 100% familiar with differences from one model to another. Generally, they are the same here.
I hope this helps... Good luck!

YES YOU ARE. THIS BELT WENT THROUGH NUMEROUS REVISIONS. THIS IS THE MOST COMMON REPAIR. ALSO SOMETIMES VERY RARE THERE COULD BE A WATER LEAK AND GOT THE BELT WET AND THEN THE MOTOR PULLEY SMOKED IT UP.

Tighten the belt on an Amana washer?
The belt should already be pretty tight after wrapping around the barrel and the motor pulley. The belt may be worn and should be inspected and probably replaced.
To prevent similar problems in the future I suggest you be aware of how big of a load you put in the washer.
Vibrating Front Loader
An experienced appliance technician can quickly check the balance of the machine. If the tub is off-balance or one of the balancing springs has been damaged then the technician should be able to resolve the problem without too much trouble.
Installing anti-vibration pads is also a good solution. Some pads are much better than others. Pads made of hard neoprene rubber are okay but try to find something made with a urethane rubber or multi-compound material. My appliance repair tech swears by Silent Feet pads from The Vibration Solution.

How do you change the drain hose on an amana washing michine
hello. The existing drain hose is a friction fit held in place with a wire clamp. Use a pair of channel locks or pliers to slide the wire clamp about 6 inches up the hose and then work it off of the fitting it is attached to. If it has been there for a long time you will find it useful to warm up the drain hose with a hair blow dryer. Regards, Joe
PS - kindly rate my answer. thank you.
I accidently washed a large load of laundry
probably broke the motor coupling, it's made of rubber and plastic, when machine is out of balance it breaks, if you turn it on agitate or spin and you can hear the motor running but nothing spinning then it has broken, part cost about 20 bucks Try Repairclinic.com
Makes loud noise when on spin cycle
Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
