the headphone jack would either be a 3 prong or a 4 prong. meaning it was either had 2 contacts on the headphone barrel or 3 contacts and the last prong being for ground. If you desolder the headphone jack you can easily determine this. Then you can goto a radio shack and pick one up for under 5 dollars. Problems that may come into play are is if they used a low profile jack over a standardized. But even if its 3.5mm or 2.5mm radio shack generally always sells them. You could also purchase them online. Most likely the cause is the contacts inside the headphone jack are no longer making contact with the barrel of the headphone plug. But if its not the headphone jack then it is possible the amp inside the unit has broken. also if you open the unit up determine if the solder on the headphone jack that makes the contact may have become cracked. If that is the case just heat up a soldering iron and make circles around the solder, but be careful not to spread the solder and cross connections.

Plug the player into your computer with the USB cord, hopefully you have that, and if you don't have the software that came with it, open Windows Media Player. Click onto the Sync tab and click on the plus sign next to the music folder of your unit (if the computer has recognized it, that is). Then right click on any song and select delete.
If the player is not detected by the computer try connecting it on a different USB port.

Do you have an USB cable that fits in the Yp-k3 and the other side in the computer?

Unfortunately there is no solution currently for your problem, you might try contacting samsung and politely requesting that they develop Mac support for their product. But the odds are not good that they will do this, unless enough people contact them about it. You can also try Parallels Desktop for mac, or another virtual operating system software to install Windows on your mac as a secondary operating system and using it that way, this is obviously an expensive method so if you don't have any other interest in the software then it's probably cheaper to buy a new mp3 player. So in the meantime here is the official Apple forum for this issue, sorry I couldn't help you more.

Save target as... (save the execute file to location on the computer)

You'll need to replace/update your firmware (the software package that makes the player work), and you can do that at the Samsung site here:

*I can't give you the exact page cuz Samsung makes a lot of YP-K3s and that's all you gave me to work with...You'll have to get the rest of the model number from the back of the player and pick it from the list above.

If you have windows media player then all you need to do is insert your YP-K3 into the computer then windows media player will show you a bunch of options for your MP3 click what ever suites you. Then rip the C.D to the windows media player. Then click and drag the songs if you want all of them click the first one press shift down on your keyboard then stop when you have all the songs you want then click and drag to the right hand side where it has your YP-K3

try taking the batteryout and taking it back in

The easy way is to buy another cable, you can find them on ebay for less than $5.00 with shipping included.
Go to Ebay and put in the search box your Samsung model and it will take you to lots of cables for your player
