How do yox fix a olympus digital voice recorder VN-8500PC, it just reads please wait?
I will assume you are not plugging it into a computer when it is reading this? If you have it plugged into a computer, I'd eject it properly from the computer. The next thing I would try doing is replacing the batteries or making sure they are fully charged if you are using rechargeable batteries. If you are using a memory card in it, I'd pull the card out and see if it powers on properly without the card. If so, you might have a bad card or your card might need re-formatted. If none of the above work, I'd removed the batteries, push and hold the power button for 10 seconds, put the batteries back in and power it back on without any memory card in it and see if it is working.

How fix
Try to reset by pressing and holding the center button and the menu button at the same time (about 5 seconds) until you see the apple symbol on the screen.

Computer won't acknowledge my mp4
Try different USB cable. The possible problem you will have though is that I suspect you will need a firewire USB cable, which most of the Glaciers & lookalikes use, so it might not be as readily available. Does it charge ok via plug charger? Try switching off & on whilst connected to computer. Also try the control panel/system/device manager settings & see if there is any sign of it in there.
What chips does it have (look under sticky paper under battery)?

MY FRIEND PURCHASED AN IPOD 30 GB A1135 AND WANTS
All iPod's are able to have music put on them using iTunes which is a free download from itunes.com. Depending on how the iPod was first setup, you might have to have it do a restore using iTunes to re-set it up if you are going from a Mac to a PC, but if it was first setup on a PC, it should be able to be used in iTunes on both systems. You might need to activate the iPod on your system to upload music to it though, which would take up one of your iTunes device activations.
