Whatever this is, it doesn't sound as if it is anything to do with camcorders. If I am incorrect, please let us know the make and model of the camcorder. Thank you.

the battery may have drained while sitting, try recharging or changing batteries and hopefully that will help.

Spec list from CNET :

Panasonic PV GS29 Specs

As you can see, it has both USB and Firewire connections - or else you could just remove the SD card and put it in a card reader.

Why on earth have you posted this query in a forum dealing with Camcorders ? Try the Grey Hound Trust, RSPCA or contact the dog track and ask them.

You will need a lead and software to transfer the videos - try Maplins or Radio Shack, or look on eBay

Many electronic items have a maximum recording time of one hour, in case they are inadvertently left on by accident.

The unit was purchased almost 4 years ago, so you have no claim against the seller.

The recall, or the reason it is unsafe is the fault of the manufacturer. Your claim is against them, and they should pay your freight charges for you to sent the item back to them.

And finally, this is the FIXYA website you are talking to, nothing to do with your sale at all and certainly nothing to do with Video Cameras, which is the category your posted to. FiXYA is a self help website, we are people just like you helping others because we can. We give information only and have no links to any account details or past transactions you may have had.

depends on what type of camcorder it is, if it's the one using cassette, you need to have a TV card that has either HDMI, S-video or AV. TV card can be connected to PC via PCI slot or USB. If your camcorder uses CD, load it on DVD\CD rom of your PC.
If is a memory card load it on your card reader, card reader you can purchase it from PC shops. Hope you find this useful
