What kinds of outputs does the cam have usb or what? The Mac has to have a compatible input to transfer data or video etc ....More info ty an good luck.Take it to a electronics store they may help with the cable an such.

depends on what type of camcorder it is, if it's the one using cassette, you need to have a TV card that has either HDMI, S-video or AV. TV card can be connected to PC via PCI slot or USB. If your camcorder uses CD, load it on DVD\CD rom of your PC. If is a memory card load it on your card reader, card reader you can purchase it from PC shops. Hope you find this useful

The takeup spool is not working properly and when this happens the machine will do exactly as you described and shut down. The belt that powers it may be slipping. Usually clutch driven.
