The 'lock' is on the actual card itself, not the camera. Remove the card, set the switch on the side to the unlock position, then re-insert the card.

I use Pro9 as well. My 550D files playSMOOTH on my computer (Intel Core i7 920 2.67Ghz 12G Ram) but I still transcodethem to Sony Vegas preferred WMV video format because I often do some editingon-the-go. And the video converting software I use is Pavtube HD Video Converterwhich works well in my 550D clips.When you transcode those filesunfortunately disk space increases quite a bit...That's why I keep the 550DONLY for "creative & beauty" shots.
