Had power outage and now VCR/DVD does not turn back on. lights all work but it doesn't seem to pick up the channel?

Dis-connect the plug from the wall receptical and other leads attached to to the unit. Next press and hold power for too minutes in an attempt to reset the microprocessor, now hook everything back up and power on, if this fails it probably would be cheaper to replace the combo than have it repaired.

Can u record from vcr onto dvd on the symphonic

Yes.
You will need a dvd-R and it should be a record button on the dvd side that you push after starting the VHS on Vcr side.

What kind of blank dvds can i use

DVD-R and DVD+R should play once recorded and finalized. RW of any kind is iffy and must be tested to see if they will work.
I don't think any dual layer DVDs will work, but I could be wrong. If you're taking about recording DVDs on this, it's not a DVD recorder as far as I know.

How to remove region restriction and make it

There is no known region hack for this model.

Symphonic players are built by Funai.

I am reporting region hacks for different Funai models.
The procedures below may not work, but that is all the information available.
I suggest contacting Funai and asking region hack for the correspondent model Funai WV806:www.funai-corp.com/6pdf/om/WV806.pdf.

Models SV2000 WV10D6:

1) Hit CS
2) 2,5,1
then the menus appear. You will notice a selection of self test info that can be used to test the player, confirm the firmware both Front End & Back End, upgrade the firm ware as well as numerous other test modes.

3)Exiting the screens and returning to normal mode:

Changing Region code:

Hit CS
Then 6,5,0 for all region .

From Videohelp.

Funai FDRV90E:

using the remote; press cm-skip, cm-skip, 5, 1
gives an info screen with many test options and displays
region code etc. I can not find a way to edit the screen
with the region code

From Videohelp.

If the hacks do not work, Try contacting Funai: Contact Funai Customer Support.

VHS tape plays for a few seconds and automatically ejects

My guess would be dirt on the rollers inside the VCR. They sesnse a jam and ejct. Try a VCR cleaner (with cleaning fluid) and see if that helps.

Vcr player eats tapes

It sounds like either the take up spool isn`t turning because the motor has failed or there`s something inside stopping the spool from turning or there may be something sticky around the skirt of the video head assembly. All I can suggest is remove the top casing and place a tape in the machine and watch what`s happening, Hopefully, you may find a child's toy or something similar under the cassette or the deck. Those labels that you place on tapes were notorious for coming off and finding it`s way into the mechanism. Ian

Symphonic WFR205 DVD recorded but not finalized

I have similar problem. I have recorded all of my old tapes on a DVD-RW disc (lots of time spent on it) and as I wanted to finalize them - it would display an recording error. Recently I purchased a new Sony blue ray player and I realized it would play the not finalized discs. I am still looking for a solution how to record these memories on a PC so I can edit them.

I cannot program the vcr

make sure the tv is on channel 3, and the vcr also on channel 3 -if trying to record from cable or satalite. then make sure tape is rewound all the way. do a test by hitting record on vcr. let it record for a few minutes. rewind it, then just hit play. Dont change any channels until you are ready to record the program of choice. After this test. And recording is successful. Rewind the tape again. And change the channel to your choice. Hit record at time of or go into menu of your vcr and set up a time to record shows.
