for around $10 and do it yourself. Or most cell stores will charge $30-$40 on average.

my phone did the same thing...if you are out of warranty you can fix it yourself, you just need to get a new "touch screen digitizer." you can order them on ebay for around 10 dollars, they usually even come with a little screw driver and seperator, if you are comfortable taking apart the phone its pretty easy and strait foward. 6 really small phillips screws on the back then it opens up, lift gently on the center of the latch on the back the phone to get to the last 2 screws, it'll slide down. The guts to the phone is held in by small clips all over so be carefull or you'll break them. Just pry them back carefully. As for the digitizer screen it's basically glued on the front. The only reason you gotta take the phone apart is for the small flat data cable attached from the screen to the inside. Gently lift up the black piece of plastic and pull the old cable out the slot, remove the screen(glued in) and work backwards from here......... it's not too bad...
