Freezer and refrigerator are too warm

Good Morning Friend, I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model#FRS6R5EMB, is not cooling well. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and make sure the temperatures are set to 0 degrees for the freezer and 37 for the refrigerator. Give your refrigerator 24 hours to stabilize at the set temperatures. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

How do I turn off ice maker

Good Afternoon Rsimmon5, I see that you are trying to turn off the ice maker to your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS6R5EMB. You will be moving the signal arm to turn your refrigerator off. To begin ice production, lower the wire signal arm to the DOWN or ON position. The ice maker turns off automatically when the ice container becomes full. To stop the ice maker, raise the wire signal arm until it clicks and locks in the UP or OFF position. If you have any trouble with your ice maker continuing to make ice after this, I recommend contacting either the manufacturer or an authorized technician in your area. Hope this helps. -Best Regards- WP

Power supply

Good Morning Jim, thank you for your post! I am happy to assist you, however what exactly is your concern or the issue your appliance is experiencing? May I please have the model number? You can typically locate the serial tag inside the cabinet, on the left side wall. With this information I can better address the issue. Thank you and I look forward to your response.

Amanda side by side wont dump ice. What can I do to fix. Have no money

Hello zinnas - If your refrigerator has completely stop making ice, try checking the following:

· It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these: If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire. If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire. In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again.

· Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

· When was the last time the filter was changed? Most side-by-side filters are recommended to be change approximately every 6-9 months depending on your water usage and frequency. The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice or have a clogged water filter. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts!

· Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary. The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.

If any of these suggestions prove to be infective, connect with a professional to accurately pinpoint any potentially more serious issues.

Freezer not freezing food

Hi webdeb1228 - Hello - Sounds like the unit could possibly have a floating restriction in the lines or something more complicated like an issue with the sealed system that only a professional can help with. This can include the compressor not working correctly, the evaporator fan not turning, or even coolant in the lines not at the correct levels to properly cool. If the compressor is running, humming, or even a little warm then that is typically normal. I suggest cleaning the unit out including the coils you can reach, and make sure no food items are blocking any vents in the unit. Also try checking and see if the door seal is bad; place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing it. If any suggestion proves to be ineffective contact a professional to move forward accurately.
