Water comes out of water dispenser on outside of

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your post I understand you have a problem with a refrigerator, model:FSR26H5AS correct ? Does it only shoot water out when the icemaker fills with water ?

If that's the scenario and If it is indeed a Frigidaire side by side, this is a problem associated with a faulty diode which controls voltages to the inlet valves.

Here's what you can do, if you have an ohm meter and measure accross the diode and get little to no resistance the diode is shorted. The diode may not be obvious as it is usually along the back wall (back of outside cabinet) and wrapped in an insulator.

The other way to check is through a voltage test. Measure voltage during an icemaker fill or a water fill to a glass, if there is voltage at all the valves at the same time, you have a shorted diode.

If so this is the kit required to remedy the problem, #5303918287. It simply can be "spliced" into the existing wires and includes the primary component, the diode.

Just hooked up my automatic ice maker and water

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

The light on my side by side will not work(

Hi.

The problem is usually the light switch (see: SWITCH (Light Switch))
The part can be tested using a multimeter set on Ohms to read impedance at the switch contacts. The test must be done with power off. The switch is indicated as part n.14 in the diagram below. Click on the picture to enlarge:

Here you will have some general advice for this case ..just to give you some ideas about what else can be wrong ...In this case I would check the coils not to be frosty before proceeding with something radical ...Usually when the fan is frosty or the coils the freezer works OK ..but the refrigerator side is not ...and it is behaving like yours..

Hello,

The most common cause of that is a malfunction of the automatic defrost system. Do you see a bunch of frost on back wall of freezer? if yes it's not defrosting or perhaps the fan in the freezer that circulates air into fresh food compartment has failed,no frost build up if it's the fan, do you hear the fan?

Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees.
Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it's frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don't refill with water.
ICE MAKER NOT GETTING WATER
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It's on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

The valve location is listed on page 5 of the Use and Care Guide, If you do not have Adobe Reader Click Here=> Adobe Reader X (10.1.0) This problem is typical as a leaky faucet that drips even when the water valve is turned off. In this fridge the cold is produced by a single evaporator coil that cools the surrounding air. Because of that it has an evaporator fan that is supposed to spread the cold air throughout the fridge.
If you can't hear it then either the fan motor or the control board have failed. To find out which just access the control board and measure the voltage at the J11 point (the one that powers the fan) - if you get the mains voltage then the fan motor has failed, if you don't get the mains voltage the board has failed. Just replace the failed component. In here

you will find the exploded view on the control panels (use it to access the board) and the replacement components.

I would check the simple things first before replacing the solenoid. First make sure that you have the supply water line turned on. Then look for kinks in the line.
