Refrigerator side not cooling

If you put hot food in the unit it can take a full 24hrs or more to come back down to temperature that is why you don't do that, anything in your fridge that can spoil is most likely spoiled.

"Lock" light came on and I don't know how to turn it off.

first press and hold the lock button for about five seconds. If that doesn't help unplug the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. It may be that you have an electronc gliche then and if you break the circuit by unplugging the refrigerator (you can also trip the circuit breaker that controls the refrigerator, if that is more accessible than the plug) it should reset. if not you may have a more serious problem with an electronic control. Good luck, hope this helps.

Side by side Jenn-air Ice and food defrosted

Whirlpool refrigerators as well as the other brands that fall under the corporation most like at some point within the first five years will stop cooling and freezing, and the sould you here will be either a humming follow by a click or in some cases just the click alone. This is caused by the start device on the compressor. The relay part of it has basically burnt, fell apart inside, however you want to describe and is not passing the power to the compressor to come on. To access this pull the refridgerator out from the wall, and first and foremost unplug it. Once that is done remove the lower panel, sometimes cardboard sometimes metal which is held up by a few quarter inch screws. Place to the side and located the compressor. The box on the side is start device, it will have 2 or 3 wires going to it, most of the time red and white respectively. Also they maybe a black box thats connected to the start device and sits horizontallty. Thats the capacitor. Keep that if your going to do the repair yourself. I recommend doing it because its very easy and will save you alot of money. You can buy this part at www.repairclinic.com or at www.apdepot.com just be sure to have your make and model number handy If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jason_4570d45317834dd3

My freezer on the side

Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking same part needs replaced. The water valve at the bottom rear of fridge
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

Jenn Air JCD2389 fridge not cold on fridge side

You have plugged the defrost drain line. This is where the water goes to in the bottom of your freezer when it goes through the defrost (removal of ice from the freezer coil) cycle. It sounds like that hole is plugged and now the water/ice has now frozen in the vent that lets air circulate down into your refrigerator compartment. What I usually do in this case is to unplug the refrigerator, empty out the freezer compartment. Usually I also end up either pulling off the back panel or the bottom panel (in the freezer compartment) Looking for that defrost drain hole and thawing it out with a heat gun (be careful of melting plastic) or actually I use a hair dryer. I can sometimes do this also by pouring small amounts of HOT tap water onto it and then sopping/absorbing it away with a sponge or dishcloth. I repeat this until I get the water to go down the drain tube.

Try it and let me know!

Freezer door opens very slightly when refrigerator

there are only two things I know of that will keep the freezer door from closing . First , visually inspect the freezer door seal that goes around the outer edge of the inside of your door . If it is out of shape , torn, etc. , replace the seal . If OK , then your door hinges are probably worn down . Sometimes , you can adjust the hinge plate which will align the door enough to close properly . Remove the top hinge cover plate with a screwdriver or nut driver to access the three adjusting screws holding the hinge plate in place . Be careful to not misalign the door worse then it is already . It may take a few times with trial and error but it can be done . Of course replacing both hinges is the best option . a specially the bottom one as it is the load carrying hinge .
