Try reformatting the harddisk, worked for me!

I think the laser that burns the discs has lost its intensity. As you may be aware a high intensity laser is used to burn the discs and any drop in intensity will prevent you from burning discs on it. You can try a lens cleaner with liquid as a bad or dirty lens can obstruct the laser.If its just a dirty lens it will be cleaned and you will be able to burn DVDs again. Otherwise I'm afraid you will have get the lens assembly repaired/replaced.

My RH265 has had this fault three times and on each occasion LG have replaced the 815V DVD Deck (Part No. EAZ34934813) - This fault seems to be common to all their recorders and in my view gives LG an otherwise undeserved very bad name for product reliability. I am very surprised that they do not appear to have solved the problem with a reliable component.

That means that Region code is not set on US, if the problem happens only on one single DVD, then the DVD may have the wrong regional code.

If you take a scart lead from you sky box and plug it into av2 on you dvd,then select av2 on the dvd as your record channel.Put the sky on play and the dvd on record.hope this helps

If you mean to play DVD’s that you may have purchased in another country the see below

For that you need to do a Google for "mymodel region free" or "region free hack"

Not all DVD players are capable of this often very simple modification that many manufacturers build into DVD player. (Usually just involves the remote control and a combination of keys)

Your search will turn up a lot of sharks that want money for the hack (fix)

If after opening up the region free parameter you still have issues and you still want to play your dvd's from around the world you might want to consider another one

I am STILL (lauren) unsure of FIXYA's policy on this topic and am awaiting further clarification on the issue with regards to handing out these codes as this is not HACKING in the same sense as pirate software etc. it is just enabling an extra feature that the manufacturer provided.

Dont now your sytem but check Home theatre sytem must be switch to 5.1 display and not dvd display. if stil no sound check in setup off dvd for soundsetting like PCM, RAW , 5.1etc and select each one till you get desired sound.

Presume your conections from dvd to hometheater is conected 5.1 cables or 1 digital cable and not stereo(2cables)

you need to replace either the mpeg pcb or the dvd loader assy.

If you can get the cover off of it have a look and see if the fan or fans are working properly...if not working it can cause the dvd player to over heat and freeze.......Hope this helps

My DVD player is just over 12 months old and it cant read the Discs it brings up a message reading NO DISC can anyone help please.

You need to go into the menu and set the "av-2 out put" to DTV, that should solve the problem, remembering to connect the "in" scart on the recorder to AV-2 on the tv.If there is only 1 scart on the recorder it will be a 2 way connection, sending and recieving a signal.

The DVD needs to initialise the disk first. Come out of the HDD dubbing menu and press DVD on the remote. The blank recordable disk should be recognised and you should see Initialise disk? on the screen. Press Start and hey presto, you can now dub from the HDD Movie dubbing menu (as per the manual instructions).

Unplug the recorder from the wall, and restart and check you you get the same error.
Try clean the lens head with a len cleaner disk. That should fix the issue. If still no go then you need to take it to a repair center, as the laser lens or the laser pickup assemble could be faulty.
