I have a lite on

Hi,how long have had it for because you might still have a warranty. if u you don't i suggest buy i knew one since usually fixing cost as much as buying a new one.

Either:

You're not putting valid DVD in the unit

Check that your discs are clean, don't have grease smudges, scratch's etc and are a playable media it accepts to be played.

Dusty lens on the reader can be a cause, so use a DVD lens cleaner disc etc.

Could be a hardware or circuit failure, such a lens/tray motor, faulty connection on the disc tray assembly, or another faulty component on the circuit board...either way useless explaining how to rectify that to u ;).

If cleaning the lens and using appropriate clean discs fails, then its probably not worth fixing. it still may be a dirty lens as many CD lens have a raised plastic rim which can make some cleaning Cd's not do a good job, so try a few times.

If u insert the disc and you hear it start to spin and hear some further movement noises and then get a invalid message it implies the CD tray assembly and mechanical parts are working, which still can mean dust on the lens which a technician can clean...but its more common to have a faulty disc reader, basically the laser no longer fires out the lens, so it fails to read anything...still tries but never will again :P.

Normally any other mechanical faults or issues cause a error in the disc read process, so u hear the disc go in and before it can do anything it gives a error or invalid message, suggesting something is damaged..

OR

You unit is having an alignment issue. While most laser read consumer electronics are not build with end user adjustments in mind, you should go to the manufacturers website and see if there is a FAQ on the invalid disc error message.

Another option is to Google Brand Name DVD player invalid disc error, where Brand Name is the name on your unit.

If others are having similar issues, you'll find them and a possible solution.

I've had great luck with this method.
Good luck!

Lite On LVW-1107HC1 DVD Recorder

Pull the plug for an hour or so, then hold in the power button while you plug it back in in the back. If the power button doesn't do it repeat holding in the open/close button. Good Luck!

Recorder fails during 92% finalizing.

The free CDBurnerXP Pro is supposedly able to close unclosed disks, but I have never figured out how to do it. Maybe you'll be luckier than me or the newer version is more user friendly.

Unable to record, fails after 27% preparing disk

When this happens to me I usually solve it by taking the disk to the PC and letting Nero or some other app format it a few times with the quick format, and then once with the long one. If that doesn't work you still maybe able to use the disk on the PC but not the recorder (you can look at the under side of the disk and see the area thats not formating properly is a different color). My biggest problems are with Memorex disks doing this, they're junk. Pick a brand like Verbatim, I rarely have problems with them, and if they cost more so what, I don't save money with disks that will not work. Avoid Sony at all cost.

Dvd tray keeps on opening and closing several

The open/close button on this unit is poorly made and only lasts awhile, but there is a button on the remote too. Then push the tray in by hand and avoid using the button at all. Mine is at the point now that a slight touch will close the tray but I have to heavy hand it (well finger it) to get it to open and it often clunks afew times before it does but it doesn't open on its own. That might indicate the set top button is making contact without pressing it. If thats the case maybe a slight tug upwards with some tape may lift it away from contact and if that works then stop using it

Unit worked flawlessly for several years. Now

When mine acts up I turn it off, unplug the power in the back, and while holding in the power button up front, I plug it back in. When you ley go of the power button the light will first go green then shut off to red and you can turn it back on to test. It doesn't work for all bugs but it has worked for me in the past for a few glitches. I also have tried uplugging for a few days to get bugs and perhaps static out. A good cleaning with a dvd cleaning disk never hurt, and rubbing the unit down with a anti-static dryer sheet can sometimes alleviate static issues after a rest unplugged.

Lite On LVW 1107 HC1 DVD Recorder

Concerning a Liteon LVW-1107.
I have had this same problem many times up until I decided that my machine tends to prefer +R or +RW disks. I have had no problems with +R or +RW disks.

( If I record something on a +RW disk and decide I want to copy it to -Rs I will copy the files to the hard drive and then reburn to
-Rs using Nero.)

Once you have had the disk in the machine and it will not play for whatever reason you might just as well throw it away and get a new disk and start over.

You may need to pull the power cord and let the machine reset on occasion also.

Realize I am telling you what works for me.
It may or may not work for you.
I hope it does.

Hello,

You can find the original remote and an alternative here. I would also suggest saving this link just in case you have to replace other remotes. http://www.remotes.com.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

After formatting the disk, it reads that it is an invalid disk.

I have a Liteon LVW-1107. It is a very tempramental machine. It tends to prefer +R or +RW disks. Will record on -Rs but may fail with them.
On occasion when I insert a store bought DVD movie I will get an
invalid disk warning. The machine seems to get confused.

What I do is pull the power cord and let it set a few minutes.
Give it a little time to reset. Sometimes you have to do this a couple times. It has always worked for me. I hope it will work for you.

Good luck. This is not a top of the line machine.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

TLX-04243B Dead set Red blink lite on right front corner

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://homenol.blogspot.com/ http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.
