Why won't the battery hold a charge anymore?
The cause of this most batteries have CELLS once those cells break down then you will not be able to recharge this-is called CYCLES. What you doing when recharging is taking the energy completely out of the battery and replacing it will new and what this does is takes away a cycle. Once those cycles have been depleted then you cannot recharge it. Now you could take the battery out put it in a plastic bag and put it in a freezer but this will only last for short time.

L lost my manuel and don'r remember how to operate
You can find your manual at www.retrevo.com
enter model number in search field
enter an email address
enter digit code
then you can download the manual
retrevo has many manuals. just search for model number and enter email address and code presented, then download (its in PDF format) so you need Adobe Acrobat reader on your computer to read it. Most people already have Acrobat on their computer.

Where can I get a replacement battery?
The best place I would suggest is ebay, com, it could be a bargain there but make sure the seller is a reputable one with good feedbacks and ask questions if you are unsure of anything before making a purchase. Good luck and hope this helps.

I need to get a new battery for my dvd player
Hello,
We looked everywhere for one of these batteries with no luck finding one. What we did find was the Lenmar DVDU923 rechargeable Universal battery pack. This is a small battery that can sit under the DVD player to power the unit. We went to Hawaii and brought 2 of these batteries with us for watching movies on the flight. They worked great, each battery lasted 8 hours with our player. The battery kit also comes with different plug tips to power other DVD players too.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Battery usage
Nope. The OEM battery is specifically designed to fit.
However, since there IS a DC jack on the side (for the AC adapter and/or Car cable), you might be able to locate a small 12 volt rechargeable battery pack into which you'd plug your Car Cable. I'm thinking along the lines of something like one of those car battery jump start units, but much smaller. I have seen them over the years, but without a search I can't recommend anything at the moment. Try Ebay, or Google "batteries." You'll find a bunch of online battery stores that just might have what you need.

I want to know were
1. Is the "short" far enough away (an inch or better) from either the adapter or the plug? If so, and you are willing to try a basic repair, you might be able to fix this yourself. If the wires are color coded (one wire may have a white stripe or ridges along the length) half the battle is done. If not, mark one wire with nail polish or Liquid Paper.
Determine exactly where the break is by bending or twisting the adapter wire. Cut the wire at this point. Now strip the ends of the wires back being sure to eliminate the broken portions. Here you can either do some creative soldering or use some tiny wirenuts (you can ask for these at your local hardware store in the electrical department). Gently twist the two color coded wires together and follow with your wirenut. Be gentle. These wires can break easily. Do the same for the second pair. If you get pleasure from neatness, wrap the entire assembly in electrical tape.
2. You can probably use a "universal" AC adapter on this unit. Best to find one at Radio Shack or Best Buy. Ask the sales person for help in determining the correct voltage, load handling capability (amperage), and polarity.
I offer these solutions since I seriously doubt you will find an OEM direct replacement. Or your could try Ebay, Craig's List, or Yahoo. . . .

Battery voltage checks good. Charger working, DVD
If your problem is this: You load the disc, it spins for a bit, then stops and you get the "no disc" warning.
First, try several DVDs and CDs. Be sure they are clean and scratch/smudge free.
If this doesn't work, try a "lens cleaning" disc next. You should be able to find one at places like Staples, Office Max, or Best Buy. Follow the directions on the package.
Still no success? Your problem may lie in the electronics.
