Owner of car needs to go to dealer with registration papers and drivers licence or id. Takes longer to drive then to get the code but the dealers are the only ones who generate the proper codes. If you are lucky the original owner may have placed the code sticker into the owners manual. There is a spot on the pages in the radio section just for that.

Try spraying silicone lubricant spray in the glass channels (rubber beading thru which glass run up and down). If this stops fuse issue then you need to change those glass beadings.

You say power over load I say there's a short in the system

Sounds like the sending unit in the gas tank is bad you need to drop the gas tank and inside with the fuel pump is the sending unit witch operates the fuel gauge

Don't think for just the one single bulb. Look in your Owners Manual it will tell you in there.

Have you checked the fuse?

first thing u need to find out is what the fuse runs and check to see if there is a reason for the fuse to blow it could be a short in your wiring and if you put the wrong fuse in its place you could burn up your wiring but the cover for your fuse block should have the correct fuse on it if not check your owners manueland if you dont have one you can visit your local auto zone and look in there chiltons manuel to find what your looking for

To control the idle.

on a Mercedes Benz the flasher relays are in the fuse box in the engine compartment. it should be a coloured square block that you can remove by pulling out.

gas or diesel sounds like either a spark or fuel pump

your parts store has what is called a tap and die set they are made for this exact purpose

easy. they turn either to the left or right. if the cover is still on, use a screw driver. be gentle... you want it to snap back on after replacing the light.

faulty security module

Hi there,
Most likely when you drove over the water it caused the wirings of the alarm to go trip.
A definite fix would be to rewire the alarm using new wires as it will be hard to find where is the faulty wiring coming from.
After rewiring the alarm i'm 100% sure that everything will be just the way it was. (it happened to me once so I base it from experience)

The problem could have been from residual static charge on the car from the polishing process or more likely the computers just needed a reset. As with most highly integrated electronic computerized equipment today (i.e. cars, airplanes, etc) when numerous electrical issues are present a hard reboot or restart usually fixes the problems.


Actually I just tried this and it seems to be working for the time being. As mentioned before if you can get the system up and running, while simultaneously holding down "Map/Guide, Menu and Cancel" for a few seconds, it does bring up some sort of test or configured menu. Within this diagnostic menu, select the "version" button and then select the button that has something to the effect of "download cd" or something like that, basically the one not involving the "pc card". It then downloaded data from the dvd I'm assuming and the system reloaded the software I'm guessing at this point. I didn't have to re-enter my radio code that I have memorized. At this point, I was able to do the things I've done in the past like using the system. I have turned the car off numerous times and the system is performing as it should at the moment. Hopefully this is the simple fix to this problem. Would like to know if it works for anyone else.

you will need to enter a code to get the radio to work again. if the code is not in the owners manual, you will probably need to call a dealership to get the code. you will probably need the vin number of the car.
