Short in the wire harness is to blame

Wiper motor relay is most likely the culprit try that first you can get relays at most automotive stores and the relay box is under the hood and they will help u at autozone try there if that's not it then it's the wiper motor

now days the computer will over ride any timing you try to do, so forget about timing it. If you insist and it works, rev the engine after you advanced the engine, it you do not hear any pins or rock you are ok. Under the hood on any car if a fast acceleration makes the engine ping back off the timing distributor about 1.8 inch and try again. A car made for high test you can do this test if you want to use regular gas.

first check your accelator cable

the old radio has the anti theft wired into the harness. what i would advise you to do is put the old radio back in and see if it starts if that works then you will need to locate the anti theft system wires and bypass it so that you can have an aftermarket radio installed and still be able to start the car. good luck

The best advice if you want to try and tune your car would be to purchase a repair manual for your ml350 such as Chilton or Haynes this manual can be had a MB but will cost much more for the same information. One other thing I will share with all is that a little mechanical experience can be very expensive so be sure to follow manual specs for a successful repair.
