How do I disable the "SECURITY FREEZE LOCK" on my SATA hard disk?

You can\'t get back the data from encrypted hard drive whatsoever. There are various recovery utility that claims to successfully recover data from the encrypted drive but none of them would actually able to recover files. One of the best recovery software of all time with which, I\'ve had quite good experience so far is, Stellar Phoenix Partition Recovery. You can try it yourself and see if it helps you a bit:http://www.stellarinfo.com/partition-recovery.htmGood luck though!!

I need to purchase a drive enclosure for a Hitachi

The drive you posted is a SATA I drive, that may be the reason the other enclosures did not work. Search for an enclosure that is SATA I compatible.

Here is one from Thermaltake:

When starting the laptop, it

Hi

Thank you for using FIXYA!!!

Before we start thinking about trashing the drive, we can ask some questions, and if the results are negative, it is most likely a spindle failure in the drive itself. Basically this means that the repair cost will be much more than just to replace the drive.

I have written a tip which will be able to diagnose the problem. To navigate to the tip, you will need to click on the link below.

Just to clarify: The clicking noise i am referring to in the tip does not necaserilly need to be loud, if the drive makes a different sound that it use to make, it is most probably done.

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards

Whenever i open my laptop

You should take the computer to a computer repair shop and they might be able to backup any important data from it if you have not backed up. If you have backed up then you may want to purchase a new hard drive, again your local computer repair shop can help you with this and replace your old drive and reinstall your operating system and then your backup data(if applicable).
Good Luck.

All i heard inside the

the beeps are post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk, and remains active untill turned off.

make sure that your RAM is securely seated

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and to have and end to function obvisously the beeps are windows searching for some hardware it could be RAM cd/dvd hard drive or motherboard all of these must have secure connections for the computer to work make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure make sure the connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

Have a Hitachi HTS541612J9SA00 120

I guess the easiest way to tell you this is straight forward. Either try blow drying out the laptop if you did not power it up after it was in the water or try to test it while it was wet. Blow it out really good. Let it dry completely if this is the case piece by piece being careful not to melt parts and misplace part etc. Most laptop or cell phones etc can be salvaged if they are allowed to dry and the batteries are removed so no contact is there. They will work again!
The hard drive by the time you get ready to fix this drive motor or whatever else it may need plus shipping and handling for the parts for it you could just buy another one they are not that expensive these days. You may end up having to take the loss of the lap top of course you can try EBay they have a variety of vendors that have mother boards as well at reasonable costs the hitch with this is that you have to be computer tech minded in order to replace a board some what if you are good at remembering where things were taken from and where they go back properly grounded etc. It would be a much cheaper fix than buying a new lap top this is for sure.
You can test the drive to see if it is good or not. If you have a computer that has a SATA slot on its board you can plug it in and give it a test to see if the hard drive will fire up and become visible in the My Computer left click and see if it shows up if that is the case you have a good hard drive. Thanks for using FixYa! I would personally if it were mine blow dry it out and give it time to completely dry. John

Hi, my laptop stopped recognizing my

This sounds like a single drive with multiple partitions that's working properly. Just because it doesn't identify the device by name doesn't mean its stopped working. Have you lost drive letters? Also, if it stopped working then you wouldn't be able to boot Windows unless you have multiple drives with some type of redundancy like a RAID array that's mirrored. : ) You can right click My Computer or just Computer IIRC in the later OSs and Manage to bring up your management console. Go to Hard Disk management and check what's active and if you have any drives/partitions that haven't been assigned a letter. This is the place to tell you more about your drives than you probably knew was possible. Good luck!
