Door from grinder will not let coffee into brew unit

From the description I understand that the flap at the outlet from grinder is not easy to open and let coffee grounds out from the grind chamber. Firstly this is a mechanical obstruction and not related to any electrical or electronic control. This happens frequently in the Ceramic burr grinders due to the following reasons: 1- The beans used are dark roast oily. Such beans are not good for use i any fully automatic model. This should be stopped immediately. 2- The grind fineness may be set at fine powdery level. This is done because there is wrong assumption thata fine grind makes stronger espresso. That is not applicable in fully automatic machines. The extraction of espresso in fully automatic machine is with pre infusion (also called pre brew soaking) and uses a back pressure valve for 9 bar extraction pressure. For this reason the coffee grounds should not be finer than table salt grain. If coffee fineness is set at powdery fine, then the setting should be changed to coarser setting. 3- Grinder may not have been cleaned for an extended period. If so clean the grinder. Use brush or scrape solid deposits in corners and crevices to clean. Finally as a part of cleaning, use a rag wrapped on finger or screw driver to wipe the invisible oil deposits on the grinder parts between the burr and the outlet. Check the flap in the coffee outlet is hinged correctly and moves freely front and back to make sure that it is not blocking outlet for ground coffee. I have just had the same thing this morning with my machine (not used & ventilate message). I followed the instructions & found the same as you, then I realised I had not turned the knob to dispense the water!! Try this, it does take a while for it to go through the ventilate process, I had to refill the watertank. Good luck

My Gaggia Titanium has an ventilate problem when it is stil cold. After starting up, autotest and running pump, it appears whit message ventilate. It takes a long time steaming or hot water after the

The ventilate sign appears as an error message to tell operator that the flow of water is reduced. I can tell that the machine has not been descaled or was descaled using unscrupulous products that are labeled as descaler but they are not. Because the sign disappears at this time after flushing water through the steam pipe, the flow restores the sensing that water is flowing normal. This "apparent restoration" of water flow is without any back pressure. The espresso function is restored for limited use. This error code if not corrected immediately, it will not disappear and not allow any function even after flushing water manually. The flow meter registers the quantitative flow of water as programmed for espresso. Please descale the machine as soon as possible. before the 'Ventilate' error message stops all functions. This is a well designed machine. Needs more attention to maintenance. You may use the link to order our Best descaler. Gaggia Titanium - can't get it to move beyond

Select "Hot Water" and open the steam valve. Let it pump water out the steamer for awhile. It usually clears right away but may need to pump a lot of water to clear the error.

If you aren't able to get any water coming out the steam nozzle, you may need to prime the pump with the little squeezy tool they gave you with the machine - or you can use a turkey baster. Mainly you are trying to get water up into the pump to prime it (get the air out of the pump) so it can pump water instead air.

My gaggia titanium dumps the brewed coffee into the dregdrawer, how do I fix that?

Water collection in dump box can be due to any of the following reasons: 1- The Plastic screw that fastens the upper filter screen in the brew group is not holding the 9 bar extraction pressure. The O-ring seal on the screw may have hardened. Replace the plastic screw. There are two different screws. Older Pre 2004 models have a screw with flexible locking pins. Here is the link to order: http://www.shop.partsguru.com/701R05150-Saeco-Pre-2004-long-Plastic-screw-30-Gm-Lube-701R05150.htm The screw in newer models is shorter with a flat locking end. Here is the link: http://www.shop.partsguru.com/Saeco-short-Thumb-Screw-with-O-ring-30-Gm-lube-0018755.htm. 2- The second reason can be less coffee which is not enough for good compacting. This leaves room for some coffee that did not squeeze out and drops in the dump box with watery used coffee puck. 3- The Conical burrs may not have been replace for several years. The steel conical burrs have a life of 2500 grinds. This machine may still have burrs that have done over 5000 grinds. Blunted burrs need to be replaced. You can order the burrs and instructions for cleaning the grinder and replacing the burrs. Here is the link: http://www.shop.partsguru.com/226473500-Saeco-and-Gaggia-Conical-Grinder-Burrs-Set-0018819.htm?categoryId=-1 Please check the above and fix the cause. My machine says fill water tank even when the tank is full of water. The gray plastic piece will not stay afloat. How can I fix this?

take the float out of the tank, it is hard to see but there is a lid on the float - prise this apart, dry out the inside of the float and then glue the float back together. It should now float, and you can make a coffee again.
