try this: shut of the computer and unplug it and then take the side off and take out the battery on the mother board. push the power buttion and let go and then plug it in and start it up. that will reset the mother board to factory settings. one you have setup the date and time and everything soudl work again and if it does put the battery back in and put the back on. then if that does not work then you will have to replace the hard drive for the hard drive is bad where the drivers are for the mouse

folders,that's why you are not able to install it.

Before you pronounce it dead, try removing the ram chip(s), wipe the contacts clean with a pencil eraser and reseat them onto the motherboard 2-3 times.Still doesn't work, try new ones. Still doesn't work. Bad motherboard.

Start the computer and when the very first screen comes up which says usually 'f2 or delete to bios' or something like that, press it. In BIOS there is a section which says the boot sequence. Go to this and change it to the CD/DVD drive to load first. If it doesn't, it will try and load from the drive first and you will not be able to boot from the CD.
