Replaced ink, nothing prints not even tests

there are two main areas of concern: A waste sponge2c905eb.jpg located just under the printhead, and which helps to park the printhead when you turn the power off, and the actual printhead itself. There are also two ribbon connectors that attach to the printhead assembly--and if one of them is not fully plugged in the exact symptoms you describe will occure.

To reach the waste sponge require the dis assembly of the upper half of the printer. I can knock it out is about 5 minutes now! I have used about 50 Q tips to soak up the ink, and manually clan the long rectangular sponge as well.

It you want I can send you pictures of my printer all torn down.

Error close cartridge door

I had the same solution until I realised that if you look on the left hand side of the cartridge drawer there is a small white plastic "lever" that if you push in you will see that the screen changes to the normal one. It would appear, in my case anyway, that I must have broken something off which stopped the lever from being pushed in when I closed the door. So, I put a piece of Blu-Tac over the lever and closed the door and hey presto all is working. Hope this works for you. Max

Epson picturemate deluxe I installed a new ink cartridge but the screen says there is no cartridge.

It can be various reasons like.. Didn't remove protective tape on cartridge.Didn't properly seat cartridge.Contacts on carriage need to be cleaned. You can clean them by cleaning the contacts on the old "empty" cartridges, then installing/removing them a few times.**If you need any kind of technical assistance you can contact support cell at here

Machine powers up displays one

Could you please clarify with more details? I would like to know how and from which program you print your photos. Are you printing from your computer or from your Camera or from your memory card or etc..? As per you've described above, it looks like you are trying to print from Memory Card, if so, once the memory card is inserted and is loaded, don't ever press the Left Selection button, i.e. the "Select All" button, instead use the left right arrow button and locate the picture, once it's located, press Ok, nothing else, no Up Down keys. I would also suggest you to press the "Print Preview" button to make sure you've selected the correct picture. Make sure you see the number of selected photos on the top right corner of the screen, if one photo is selected, you'll see 1, if two photos then 2 and so on. If you think you've selected more than one photo, press the "Copy" button to deselect the current picture. If you are in the multi thumbnails view of your pictures, you'll see the selected photos are highlighted with orange frames, if your view mode is single photo view, then you'll see the orange border around the photo.
Note: Never press Ok or any key once the photos are loaded, instead press the left or right arrow keys to select the photo you want to print.
If you need further help, please let me know with the details I've asked above. If you are printing from your computer, don't forget to mention the Operating System and the name of the program from which you are trying to print eg. Photoshop or Windows Print wizard, etc..
Also, is this the first time you try to print like this or have you been printing like this recently, have you ever had this problem before (if you've printed photos in the similar way you are printing this type)?
Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Just put new Epson ink

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Epson-PictureMate-Printers-manual/id/259ag808/t/2/
Please find you manual above.
It was first suspect that your head on the black, is faulty, and the only way to test and to tell is to try a new cartridge, if this doesn't work, and cleaning makes no difference, then usually in these cases the most likely thing is you have a blockage in the little tubes between the cartridge and the nozzle itself, this is quite common, this mean that to fix it, the entire assembly must be replaced. Now as for the colors being all wrong, this points to a bad "Engine" inside? and if we put the two problems together then I think, that it is all got to do with that, the internal electronics, I think that you have a problem with the "Computer" inside the printer, and it isn't controlling the print heads correctly? the only fix in that case will be a main board replacement?
There is little anyone can do with printers these days, the days of DIY are gone, for the most part, and the very best thing to do, is get a free "Quote" as to costings for a repair, and go from there? get it looked at by an Epson professional ONLY.

Can you Help me unclog

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

You need to run a Head Cleaning cycle so printer can get rid of the old ink from your previous cartridge. Try running it from maintenance for at least twice or try printing pictures in between cleaning cycles.

No Problem, just want a manual!

First of all, here is the main Epson ONLINE SUPPORT page:

http://www.epson.ca/cgi-bin/ceStore/support/SupportIndex.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=-10237&infoType=Overview

And here is the support page for the generic version for your model:

http://www.epson.ca/cgi-bin/ceStore/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=40942&infoType=Overview

And here is the direct link that Owner's Manual / User's Guide:

http://files.support.epson.com/pdf/mate__/mate__u1.pdf

If you have a specific model of PictureMate printer such as the CHARM, SNAP, or ZOOM edition, then you will have to select it yourself from the list provided at the main support page.

To view the Support Page or the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated or the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

If this was at all helpful please click on the 4 Thumbs Up helpfulness rating icon you see on this page.

Thank you very much and good luck.
