the power cord might be faulty.See if the adapter is warming up or nor after connecting it to a power source for at least 20 mins.If it is not warming thencontach HP at 1-800-hpinvent.they replace it for free or a nominal charge.

ok.try this.
1)remove the cartridges from the printer.
2)unplug the wire at the back of the printer.there will be two wires one is power wire and other is usb wire.remove both from the back of printer.
3)then remove the other end of usb wire from the back of pc.
4)then wait for few minutes.say 5 minute.
6)then connect the power wire to the printer at its back.
7)then clean the brown colout dotted circuit of both printer and cartridge.with the help of dry tissue paper.
8)clean all the ink in the lower side of the cartridge circuit with a dry tissue.
9)then insert the cartridge and check out.
10)now without connecting the usb wire to the back of printer.check out that does any error light blinking on the printer or not.if not
11)then connect the usb wire to the printer and check out by printing a page.
12)but if any error light is bliking on the printer before connecting usb wire.then
13)in the back of the printer there is access door.to remove any paper jam if there is a jam.just check out by removing the access door.
this will help.
if still the same problem then its the sensor problem in the printer.there is sensor in the printer which detects the paper in the printer.if the sensor is broken then it will not detect paper and so it shows this error as paper jam.in this case the printer has to be taken to repair center to get the sensor replaced.
the cost of new sensor is $5 and local printer repair technician will get it done.

Sorry - you are much to slow on the trigger - got it fixed myself - and I am not a techie,, by any means!! So much for Mr Fix-it!

It keeps saying print alignment failed

I think windows vista is not a printer driver friendly..I suggest that you use windows XP or windows 7 for your computer OS.

1. Turn on the HP All-in-One.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the unit.
3. Press and hold the # and 3 buttons simultaneously.
4. While still holding down the # and 3 buttons, connect the power cord to the back of the unit.
5. Continue holding the buttons until the Power button blinks.
6. Follow the instructions that display on the unit to select the language settings.

Then when that's done, try printing, or copying items. If its still not working, check the ink and change those out and this should fix it.

This may be caused by a dirty sensor. Disconnect power supply, open the printer and clean everything. You may use toilet paper. Be careful not to leave fragments of toilet paper inside the printer.

Well, the issue seems to be with Printer carriage stall or it could be an issue with Paper feed rollers or with Communication issue between Computer and Printer.

I changed the cartridge and it now works. I resent this though because it had been merrily printing before it decided it would stop and I have had to waste a three quarters full cartridge! I just hope the new one does not go the same way

Install the software on the laptop first and when it asks to connect the device, continue without connecting. Once finished, ensure the printer on the desktop is being shared in the printers folder. Then on the laptop add a device and search the network. If your 2 computers have the network established it should see it.
