Reinstall the print cartridges and follow the instructions for "Print cartridge troubleshooting".

Pick up the printer. Carry it outside. Lift the lid on your trash can. Gently place printer in trash can. Close lid. Wait until garbage day. Open trash can lid........problem solved. Reminder.. never buy HP again.

hello. I recommend that you take your printer into a computer repair shop near you. It will need to be taken apart, cleaned, lubed and then reassembled. Get the cost upfront so there are no surprises, and if you have more than one repair shop in the area, do shop for the best price. this is a simple repair if you are experienced at it and problematic if you are not. J.

I have the same problem. If you have a clue what to do, please let me know as well. I have done all of the remove and insert things. I have cleaned both cartridge and nozels. But nothing new is happening.

Delete the document in queue, press Ctrl+Alt+delete at the same time and select 'Task Manager'. If the Print Queue is still appears in 'Applications' select and stop it. Turn off printer and Restart P.C., when P.C. is ready turn on the Printer fingers crossed Print Queue is no longer there. You should be able to carry on printing.

You can go to the HP website and download a printer driver for your printer for free. My printer is older that windows vista so I had to do the same thing when I upgraded from windows XP to Vista. The directions should be pretty straight forward on the HP website. There is a support/driver tab at the top.

make sure the cartridge is seated correctly and make sure the bottom is clean wipe with a qtip and alcohol otherwise cartridge needs changing.

Hi. Based from the symptoms you are getting and printer's age, this looks like a real error message.
It signifies a hadware failure in the Ink System which is responsible for sending signals to the ink cartridge to print ink on paper.
Some times its only a cartridge sensor or carriage and most times its even the circuit board and other sensors involved that go bad.
If in warranty, you should get it repaired for free by HP. In 90% cases they just replace the printer because repair is expensive.
If not in warranty the repair will not be cost effective. But if you want you can call HP and take a quote.
Even if you want to repair it yourself, you need to buy the complete Ink System from them which will be more expensive than buying new printer.

check the pins as they may be dirty. the pins are the ones of the carraige of the printer. remove the heads and wipe it clean with a kleenex. use distilled drinking water if you need to, not alcohol or any other water. if it still persist check with another cartridge, the cartridge may need replacement.

Open the rear panel door and pull out the jammed paper or if it isn't there, open the front panel door and check there, if so, just pull it out. It's helpful when you switch on an off the machine while you pull. check out the flash tutorial here..click to open the link

When the printer tells you "wrong cartridge", it is because it cannot recognize the cartridge.
Remove the color cartridge and gently wipe the electric contacts on it with a dry cloth. Put the cartridge back in and check for error messages.
If the problem persists, you will need to buy a new color cartridge, because the one you have is damaged- one of the contacts on it has blown, and when you place it in the printer, it won't recognize it, because one of the contacts is missing (that is why some printers give a warning sign "cartridge missing").
