I bought this same printer at wal-mart and for the price, it's desposable. When the price of a printer with a color cartridge is about the same as the price of the ink cartridge itself, then I'm happy if I can make it through the ink before it stops working. Mine won't power on anymore, but I don't feel screwed by Lexmark or Wal-Mart, I GOT WHAT I PAID FOR. If you want a better printer you have to pay for it.

Unfortunately It will not work for Windows ME no compatible driver for the operating system..

try upgrading computer to windows 2000 or get a different model that support Windows ME

All you need is the printers Drivers ( Software )
Go To Lexmarks Site/ products/ Support or downloads.
Locate, drivers et,c.
Should be good to Go.

well...did you get drivers from a known good source? sometimes those driver sites can be a little obsolete.

try this one, which links directly to the lexmark site.

You have to run (Add a Printer) wizard.

My problem was when I installed the driver from the lexmark site, I was using dial up. It was a slow download and some files did not download properly. Today, I upgraded to high speed internet and reinstalled the driver. The download was fast and I had no problems. Printer is working fine now. You may want to try to delete the first download and try again. Hope this helps.

try to search in google.com... then type the model the of your printer in the Google search..then find it the same model of yours.

what kind of system software are you runing on, lexmark models like such do not work with vista because of vista being new and needing much work done. if you have xp ur good to go. if you dont have the download software get it from the internet at www.lexmark.com. step by step info.

Your printer is going to continue to send that error message, based on the fact that it doesn't matter if you have a full black cartridge, it's not going to print without the color cartridge wierd I know but that's how it works.

Give it a good clean right through, including the print head with an appropriate material such as isopropyl. . Disconnect it from your PC, uNINSTALL THE SOFTWARE. Do a disk clean up and a disk defragmentation procedure,. Restart the PC and reinstall the software, that should clear the fault
