If you have any available PS3 60GB model motherboards available and up for sale, I'm looking for one to replace my current broken motherboard. My email: [email protected]. Thanks!
You can't just replace the motherboard, the blu-ray is tied to the motherboard number, so if you put in a new motherboard it won't read blu-ray games anymore. Check http://www.edepot.com/playstation3.html to find out how it is tied to the motherboard.

My playstation 3 just recently started freezing. It starts to freeze about 5 seconds after i turn it on. It does not even reach the main menu, it freezes while the waves of colors are still showing. I have tried everything, holding the power button for ten seconds and starting it over, making sure there is no tear in the wires and they are all plugged in right, it is not the video game, and my ps3 is only almost 2 years old. i have not dropped it or got any liquid in it, it just randomly started freezing one day and i am not sure what to do about it Every time i turn on my ps3 its starts but its freezes everytime before the main menu. i can just see the waves in the background and heare the background music. the main menu never showes up. the controlers cant neither connect to the ps3 they just blink a couple of times and then turn of again.
I had the same problem bud. I rushed and contacted sony but the next day my friend told me a great solution tht safed me 150 $. Well basicly your ps3 is lika a PC. All you nerd to do is to get to the hard drive menu. By holding the power button for 10 sec but do that for 3 times. That will take you to the blue menu. From there just reset your hard drive and wola brand new.
Ps Same thing happend after i downloaded the house app. booo to the house lol

my 60gb ps3 keeps shutting off when i try to play gta4 and cod4, i was playing gta4 and about 20 min. into the game it just shut off, so then I started back up again it felt around it and it did not seem hot at all and started playing gta4 again and the same thing happened again after about 20 min. now when it try to play cod4 the game will start then while it is loading a mission it shuts off also when i try to use the internet the ps3 shuts off after about 5 min. i have taken it apart and cleaned all the dust out of it but that didn't work then i replaced the fan that didn't work then i replaced the thermal compound on the heatsink that didn't work. I can play ps2 games just fine use the xmb just fine and play movies just fine. i don't want to send it in for repair for $150 i would rather try to fix myself can anyone help?

I had a problem with my PS3 some months ago that it wouldn't play any kind of games or movies, i tried cleaning it with compressed air can, I used some cleaning cloths especially made for cleaning the PS3, I even tried out a cleaning disk, nothing worked. So I opened it up and I found out that the motor that makes the disc spin broke so I bought a new one and installed it on the ps3 and now my ps3 will only play PS2 games and normal movies only. I checked and it is exactlly the same one. I can't send it back to Sony since I already opened it and I already spend all my money on trying to fix it and buying the disk drive. I calle Sony and they told me to do a full format so that is what I'm doing, I hope it fixes the problem, if it doesn't I don't know what else I can.
Appreciate the help,
Brian A.

My 80gig ps3 didnt read my ps3 games; followed these instructions and it worked!!!
1. Plug in controller
2. Have system in standby mode (red light)
3. Hold down power button for a full cycle (will turn on and back off again)
4. Hold power button again will hear 2 single beeps then a double beep.
5. As soon as you hear the double beep immediately remove your finger from the power button.
6. Hit the PS button on controller when it tells you to
7. Go to ONLY option 3 (restore)
8. WARNING: select any other option and you can wipe out everything ONLY USE OPTION 3

error 80022d11 on ps3 how to fix won't let me play game cause it can't find the trophies!!
Hi
This error only happens with games that collect trophies. Sony released a fix for this very problem in a firmware update V2.6 earlier this year.
The latest firmware is now V3.10 and hopefully this will resolve the issue for you.The easiest method is to download the update right on your PlayStation 3.
In the Settings menu, right at the top, is System Update. Select this and when asked tell it to Update Via Internet. It will then check for any updates. If it finds one the download will begin. The average size of these updates will be in the range of 100 MB so it may be an idea to do something else for a few minutes while it downloads.
Once the download is finished it will ask you to hit X on the controller to start the install. The system will restart and ask you to connect the controller with the USB cable and hit the PS button. The screen that shows up should say Firmware Update with the version number and at the bottom you will see X to start the install. Hit X and you see a software agreement- hit right on the D-Pad until you get to "agree or do not agree". Select agree to start the install. Again, this will take a few minutes. When it is done you will hit X to restart the system. A quick reboot and you are done.
Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.
