ASUS P5N-E SLI Motherboard - Page 2 Questions & Answers
My cp always crashes and asking for the bios
The computer is asking you to go into the BIOS to fix (probably) the Date and Time because it is wrong or some other setting is wrong or corrupted.
This is usually cause by a flat BIOS battery.
Replace the BIOS battery (this battery may be a coin size lithium battery type CR2030) and then go to the BIOS configuration and set the Date & Time etc.
I am unable install sound drivers
Try going to the offcial product support page:
here.(You didn't mention what operating system you're using, so you'll have to change that unless you're using Vista32bit)
Navigate to the 'AUDIO'-tab and download the drivers.
In my pc mercury 845 GLM AGP V5.0 mother board
your configuration seems to be low.... pls upgrade your machine and install windows vista or windows 7.... even if you install it successfully, you will have slow running probelms, low disk storage space and everything.... so use windows xp only...... pls vote if you like this solution...
Hello,
Sure, P5N-E SLi will run any PCI-e 1.x or 2.0 card just
fine. have read of radeon HD 5850 working just fine on the same motherboard and since HD 5750 and HD 5850 are almost the same, i will take it at that.

Cannot get microphone controls to work
Provided you have the correct drivers already installed for this motherboard, in Windows XP:
Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices > Voice Tab > Voice Recording > Drop-down box should have default device listed > Click Volume button > Adjust Microphone Slider
After completion, try Test Hardware button...
Vista, windows server 2003/2008, windows 7 not support mercury845
You should check the manufacturer's website which should have updated drivers. If it does not have Vista drivers then you may need to upgrade your system if you want to run Vista.
Also download the Vista compatibility program from Microsoft and run it on your system with the motherboard and it will check to see if there are newer drivers for your system that Microsoft has.
Let me know if I can be of more help!

Problems booting
It could be either the monitor cable, monitor or motherboard that doesn't work.
It could also be that you are running a BIOS version too old to support your new parts.
I would try to update the BIOS and then troubeshoot a little to find out if, and which, part is broken.
