Just be careful because linux drivers are jumbled along with the windows drivers so look carefully.

As long as you are using a decent video card there should be no problems in installing 7.
Check the BIOS settings for the hd's controller - something is wrong there.

Have you changed the bit settings? Suppose if it's 16 bit, change it to 32 bit and see the affect. Updating the driver to the latest version will also solve your problem, if there's no mistakes with the internal settings. If you still have problem, do let me know.. Good luck.
