the 0101 error in sp540 is the Limit Position Initialize has not been done. you find videos on you tube that can help you to do the limit position operation. (you have to enter in Service Mode Menu) its easy to do it yourself. i hope this help.

if the problem is persists you have to replace the data cable connected to the head ( this cable goes foward and backward with the movement of the heads and sometimes it brokes ) i had the same problem and the solution is this.

your print head dry out, cause is: no use! you should detach the tube between the pump and the caps, the one of magenta and yellow, insert a seringe in the tube (that comes from the cap) and suck some cc´s of ink, .then atatch the tube again and run one or two powerful cleanings, then run the test. A smart advise is: never turn off the machine in the main power, the machine when in stand by, does automatic a check and a cleaning process from time to time if needed.

How to stop BN20 from beeping due to one empty ink cartridge. Need to purchase replacement.

i had a similar problem with my sp540 and the solution was the strip (the electrical one, that is connected to the head, broked) have to be replaced. and everything goes ok .good luck

hello i add a video explaining how to install sp540v in win7 u need to install the Intercon-NetTool (that u can download from the Roland website) to allow the comunication with the plotter. its all well explained in the video. good luck

hello try to clean the Encoder strip of your sp540, gently with alchool isoprophilic i add a video explaining (the procedure and the result is the same for sp540) i hope this is helpfull. good luck
