Does this aerial work with other televisions? Has the Sharp worked on this aerial recently? If the aerial works with other televisions, and the Sharp has worked on the aerial recently, it sounds as though the tuner stage has stopped working, though it could always be a digital decoder (if fitted).

It sounds like bad luck to me. You cannot change any settings on a TV by connecting a computer to it. In theory you can damage any monitor by setting the screen resolution of the computer higher than the monitors maximum res. The Sharp 26" has a resolution of 1366 x 768 (1080i) so (again in theory and I have never seen it happen) if you set the output to 1920 x 1024 (HD - 1080p) it can kill the screen. Perhaps this is what has happened. You will need to take it to a Sharp service centre.

Did you want to download this video? If you did, you can use some program to help you to extract youtube video you like, and then export them to your TV. I often do it, so that I can watch online TV shows on my TV. 

Clicking Menu, SetUp, Reset will reset the television and take it out of demonstration mode. You may have to re-program your channels & labels however, but you will get out of demonstration mode.

Try resetting all features in the menu to standard or default or factory preset.

Convergence problems are usually caused by a diode on the convergence board. These little critters have a tendency to short out and cause the convergence to do strange things.

Obviously, this is not a job for the home owner because few of you know electronics. So, call in the technician to make the troubleshooting of the circuit. The diode costs .98 dollar. The technician will cost you about 250dollar. Don't ask me to explain it.

When you say WD box, do you mean a Western Digital Hard Disk Drive? If so, get a Solid State Drive (SSD), and connect it via USB3. The HDD or the USB connection is not fast enough to keep up with the required speed of the video. If you mean something else, please add details.

Check the high voltage circuit on the board that has the 120 volts input. The high voltage should be close to 400 volts - nothing less than 390 volts. The capacitor is failing to hold the voltage and needs to be replaced.
