Check your hook up to set and connect something to a different input to see if it works.Set has sound? rastor or light on screen? On screen menu works?

Go into your user menu and then to setting or parental control. You should see an option to lock and unlock your panel.

You need a new on/off button. Sounds like the spring has gone. I know this as mine has just been fixed and I was told that the button was only to be used to turn the telly off for long periods, like holidays.!!

One of these circuits are failing, there are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.
