Laptop screen is not showing
if the power is on and the screen does not show up , try to hook an external monitor using the VGA cable. If the screen does show up, it means that the problem is in the laptop LCD monitor itself. Otherwise if the external monitor does not show up, that means your laptop does not boot anymore to the operating system. Try to turn off the power and remove the power cable and battery on the laptop. Then press and hold the power button for 8 secs. Then reinsert the battery and power cables on the laptop then turn on the laptop. If there is still no screen displayed then call Lenovo for repair of your laptop.

CD's not working on my
it can mean that you need a new DVD drive, but you can first try to delete the upper and lower registry filters for the drive. You can find an automated method and the manual steps through the following Microsoft article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116 . Another thing to do is to update the firmware of your drive if available. Search it through the manufacturer of your system or the drive itself. Lastly, you may also attempt using lens cleaner. Hope these things will help
