You say you had previously had audio so this should fix it. Go to the control panel click on sound and audio devises and check you have not muted it.
If it's not muted right click my computer. Properties. Hardware. Device manager. Check you have no yellow asterisks next to any of the sound,video and game controllers, if you have right click and uninstall. Reboot the system wizard should find new hardware and reinstall the driver correctly.
It's got to be the driver or it's muted the only other thing is the card is faulty and I doubt that as it's built into the motherboard and you would have other problems if that was down.

The issue might be due to the corrupted audio drivers or incorrect sound settings. Reinstalling the audio drivers can fix the issue.

microsoft does do some not-so-nice things to its consumers ,bear this in mind,there are foreward compatability issues between some upgrades on some system,yours might be a backwards compatability issue

download (as in Save, not Run) all of them and install them one at a time - start with the Hard drive and Video ones.

change the connetor sata / IDE or clean it with isopropyle. Reinsert it if problem is same check hard drive for any bad sectors. you can use your boot cd provided with lenovo for hard drive diagnosys also.

Hi. regarding the question about replacing it with a desktop speaker, yes you could do that but if the problem is with the drivers for your audio then that would not fix the issue, because even if you change the speaker hardware but the problem is with the software then it would still output the same grounded sound. The best way to fix this is first, try to use the desktop speaker and plug it on the speaker port on your laptop and if its output is clear that means the problem is with the hardware built in speaker of your laptop but if the output sound is still grounded the you should download the latest driver for the audio of your laptop from the lenovo website or you could also call their tech support hotline at US/Canada 1-800-426-7378, Australia 1-300-880-917 and if you are still under warranty then they could just replace the speaker of your laptop. yes, if you have an S-video out port you can.
once you have the cable connected to both pieces of equipment, you will need to push the signa. to the external screen. not sure what buttons are used on the Lenovo, but you can look that up. You may need to adjust your display settings to allow for the external video screen

i conected s video out from lenovo 3000 n 100 laptop and rca in on my tv. but no matter what i do, it dosent work. please help me

just insert the stick into the usb ..and wait for the windows to recognize it and install the device ..this will be a few seconds and it will prompt you with a balloon in the right area that will say the device is installed and ready to use..
after that it is either open an auto-play window and ask you for an action ..(you can select a preferred action and click the case to always perform that action ) and my choice will be the feature that says open the folder to view files..and if you select that case and choose this action ...every time you will insert the stick in usb port ..it will automatically open the folder to show you what it is inside..
if the autoplay is stopped..the way to find it ..is after you insert ..wait a few seconds..and look for it in My computer folder where all drives are shown ..C drive ; D drive; the cd /dvd drive and it will be there named removable storage device.
Just double click to open its folder and it will behave like any other folder ..you can copy..or cut ..or delete from it ..and also copy to it by choosing a file from computer ...right click on it ..copy ..than click on the device folder and right click infact and paste ..thats all..it behaves like moving files from a folder to another into the computer ..
