Polaroid FLM-323B Television - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Yes we bought our tv from walmart as the display
Hello,
If you can turn it back on with the s momentary key or power button:
When it shuts off, do you need to push the power button once or twice to get it back on? Also, does anything else about the picture or sound change as it warms up?
If once, then the controller is shutting the TV down either as a result of a (thermally induced) fault in the controller or it sensing some other problem. Monitoring the voltage on the relay coil (assuming these is one) could help determine what is happening. The controller thinks it is in charge.
If twice, then the power supply is shutting down as the controller still thinks it is on and you are resetting it. A couple of possibilities here would be low voltage or high voltage regulation error (excessive high voltage is sensed and causes shutdown to prevent dangerous X-ray emission).
A partially dried up main filter capacitor could also cause a shutdown but there might be other symptoms like hum bars in the picture just before this happened. Clipping a good capacitor across the suspect (with power off!) would confirm or eliminate this possibility.
If it uses a pull-knob (or other hard on/off switch), then this may be like pulling the plug and would reset any abnormal condition.

Looking for power supply core its lcd2000 12 volts
If you cannot find available power supply to your lcd suggest that you convert a generic WEIYA brand power supply as substitute to your power supply. This WEIYA is popularly used in all amusement game machines. It has an output of 5v,12v and 24 volts that is use for your mainboard, sound and cold cathode(screen backlight)

No Picture
Usually sound with no picture may mean one of two things.
1) Either issues in the power supply feeding the panel it'self - not the audio portion or -
2) The lamp ballest 'back lighting' supply has failed.
If you call a trusted local service center they should be able to give you an estimate of repair over the phone. You may try a couple of shops for estimates. Can be repaired.

I have a polaroid 3200 TV while I was watching tv
msp_pitt, The first place I would investigate would be the units MAIN "switch-mode-power-supply" to see if any capacitors have blown-up or vented themselves to room atmosphere. I would also check the units "inverter supply" board for bad capacitors or other fried components. You may or may not find parts or boards for this unit. could try some place called "shop jimmy" I think. Before you do anything visit YOUTUBE. You might find information there also, or a DIY video of common fixes for SMPS's on your unit. Good luck. 12fixlouie

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. From what
you have described it seems that you
might have a backlight issue with this TV set. It could also be due to the
inverter circuits for the backlights. The inverter is the power
supply source for the backlights. There could also be a screen driver
problem; if it is then you have to change the entire board. All this is only
recommended if you have some kind of expertise for checking the internal
circuitry of the TV as these units have high voltages running even when the set
is switched off.
Please do accept the solution
if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Thanks

TV shut down and is
LET me ask a few questions.
Were you having problems before it went total dead trying to turn it on?
Having to try several times to get it to come on and work?
I am familiar with this model. If you have NO power light etc it may be fixable in a simple way.

How do you use external speakers when you have no sound on the tv
Bring up the TV menu on screen by pushing the menu button on the remote that came with the TV, access the audio menu or you may have to select the set up menu(different TVs have different menu systems) but what you want to look for is make sure the TV speakers are turned "ON" TVs of today give you the option to have the TV speakers "ON" or "OFF". If all is well there, in order to connect external speakers to your TV you would have to send the audio signal out of the TV to an audio receiver/amp by way of RCA style patch cords. TVs these days do not have an internal amp that is capable of powering external speakers, that is why you do not see speaker wire terminals on the back of your TV. Good luck !
