Polaroid FLM-323B Television - Page 4 Questions & Answers
My polaroid tv/dvd model 1913
You are showing 2 models is it a 1913 or FLM-323B can't be both!
Hello; I am John at J. D. Electronics in Poland, Maine. This set uses a very poor design. They are stacking two 450 volt cap to get a 900 volt rating needed in this circuit. This practice was used decades ago, but only with VERY high quality caps that are closely matched. At least one cap is bad, but they MUST both be replaced with high quality MATCHED caps. There is an 80% chance that these are your problem. If you have no way of soldering and testing Caps send me the power supply board ( the top board in the big metal box) with $40 cash or postal MO to cover parts, testing caps & replacing caps and return shipping but with NO WARRANTY. On The DVD problem, many DVD chassis have failed. This part is near $250 and will probably fail again if you replace it( junk). You must call first 207 998 5687 est. M-F 9-5 EST only. Good luck, John

The tv has a blue
This message comes when you have no source signal...Look there, the TV is just reacting correctly to a no signal condition.

I had the same issue, the only solution I have found was to unplug both the VGA cable and the audio before turning it on, then plug them both in after you switch the input to VGA. Kind of a pain, but it works. Am still looking for a better solution though.

Polaroid 37 tv on/off problem
Hello,
It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the TV there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop.
Hope this helps in solving the problem....

I turn the tv on
Hello
If the picture is correct in all resepect, and only a buzzing sound only comes from its inside circuit, it will be due to a loose core fittings, on any one or two ferrite cored transformers inside the power supply sytem. There are transformeres of small and large types, both in power supply and other boards. We have to find out which transformer makes this buzz sound during working. For this, you have to open your TV, and power it ON, and listen the the sound carefully, and detect the transformer which makes this noise. After finding the exact one, this loose core contact can be fixed with the help of Super Glue or similar fast acting adhesive. Just put three or four drops of adhesive in between the core will rectify your problem.
If there is no picture at all and a buzzing sound like this is heard from your TV, the inside circuit has some short in it and has to be detected and rectified. OK>

I have to push the power button about 50 times
It sounds link the switch is not working reliably. Eventually, the switch will fail completely. If your set is under warranty, have it serviced right away. If it is not, you might be able to make this repair yourself, otherwise you'll have to have it repaired professionally.
I wonder why you're not using the TV's remote control to tun it on and off?? This will stop the wear on the mechanical switch and save you a few bucks on the repair too.

My tv is set on
Doesn't appear to be a good way to do this without the remote, you can try to do a factory reset,
Factory Mode Procedure
1.Power on TV.
2.Press volume up and channel up buttons on the TV simultaneously and release.
3.Power off TV with remote or power button to exit.
If this doesn't work you can get a polaroid replacement remote here:

Ensure that all pins match perfectly before powering up the tv. Place the old board next to the new and varify that all pins (EX: 12v 24v 5v etc etc) are in the exact same locations for the quick connectors. Even with the H on the end...you probably have the newer "verison" board, but this doesn't imply that the boards are identical. With revisons you sometimes see components that are different, but pins that are the same, or you see pin changes.
I have highlighted the areas in yellow to pay attention to. See how they are stamped with the VOLTAGE read-out? These MUST match for the tv to function.
Sometimes a revision will also change the input plug for the 120v input (left yellow) check this also.
Hope this helps :)

Looking for users manual
Most major manufacturers supply manuals
online so if you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, you
may be pleasantly surprised as usually, if available, one is able to
download, by model number, Customer
Instruction Manuals, Dealer
Network for spare part supplies as
required.
The information is normally free of
charge.
I hope this helps.
