Hello, The problem is the cable. Those converter cables rarely work. they can't translate the scan rates properly. You need a converter box for the video signal, and get a cable to plug into the headphone jack on the laptop to send sound to the audio input on the TV. You might need to replace the cables as the cable you are using has some disconnected points. The pins of a vga cable represents different color signals, if there is a disconnect, the pictures will not display with a complete video 256 colors.

Many Notebooks show what to press to enter the boot menu in the bottom of the screen just before the boot with a logo. Or you can try F8 or F12.

This is a message that is given with a blue screen? If so then it is a Common error message for Missing NTLDR. Reinstall OS again.
What version of Windows and how far into the Restore are you getting to when you get this issue?
Also, it could be an issue with the restore image/files that you are using that is causing the problem.

On most notebooks, there is a VERY small return spring (smaller than a spring from a ball point pen) on the latch that tends to break.

Here is the link for the Aspire 5100 Series Drivers. Make sure you choose the correct Operating System. Your webcam driver is listed as "Camera".

If downloading the driver and installing it doesn't solve your issue, please don't be hasty and trash my rating percentage with an "unhelpful" check mark. There are other reasons why a webcam might not work.

You can also go into the "Device Manager" and see if there's a webcam listed in the hardware list showing no driver or a disabled one. If so, you can double click on the webcam device listing and try to update the driver by asking Windows to do it automatically.

That is a windows error. You can try booting off the original installation CD and choose option for fix current installation, but chances are 50.50 if it will work or not. NTLDR is the bootmanager for Windows NT based systems (Windows NT, 2000, XP, etc). Critical system file, typically protected against altering.

The error code you gave is usually associated with windows having issues seeing / using a SATA drive. You will likely have to find the driver for our particular SATA controller, and load it when prompted as you startup off the recovery disk.
