again flash your bios the one you put might be corrupted.

Your hard drive may have crashed.This is so proven by the 'blue screen' technically referred to as 'the screen death'.

• First,you may try removing the hard disk,leave it for a while and re-fix it again.Start the PC.What happens?
• If still wont start, you may have to try and re-install the operating system again.
• If the operating system wont install on the drive,replace it.

Turn off the laptop.
Take out the battery and ac aapter.
press and hold the power botton for a minute.
turn on the laptop now.

If still not working, take out the hard drive and ram then put them back and turn on the laptop.

if the issue persists, graphics card/motherboard has gone bad.

If you have virus in your PC,then only 1 solution. It is to install AntiVirus.
Antivirus will keep virus away and its safe for PC as it will prevent the PC from Hacking,Cracking etc stuffs. So its better to download an Antivirus.

You would have to perform this in the BIOS ( Basic Input/Output System) Here are the steps:

1. Restart your computer. 2. Enter the BIOS by pressing the designated key (usually F1, F2, or Delete key).You will be able to enter the BIOS by pressing any of those keys..(this is the black screen that appears before your window starts up) 3. Inside BIOS, navigate the "menu" option by using the "arrow keys" 4. Search for "user password,system password, or power-on password" as it may vary depending to your system. It should show you "enabled or Active" and you have an option to "disable it" 5. Make the "disable password" press enter. 6. Click the "Save Changes" or "Save Changes and Exit" option in the system and it should not ask you for a password the next time you turn your computer on.

Is your hard drive installed properly? It may be that the connection pins are not making good contact.

Remove the hard drive and reinstall it. It may solve the problem.

It might possibly be the motherboard circuitry, however, if it were I would imagine that the computer would show an error message on boot-up during POST.

Were the computers dropped or somehow bumped hard?

By any chance, do you have a external memory installed? Like a USB stick or an SD card from your camera? If you do, remove the memory then reboot!

ok to fix this you have to call compaq and ask if they can have the bios password removed and after that you can try to see if the system will boot

Hi,

You've no chance of cracking the power on password without help from Dell themselves, but you have to have ownership of the laptop and have it registered to you with Dell otherwise they will refuse to give you the password to get into the operating system and reset the password.

If they do refuse then the only other option is to replace the motherboard which are not cheap.

The reason for this is that the power on password is stored on the TMP chip which is similar to the eeprom chip. It always remembers the password even if you take the BIOS battery out. You cannot reset the password without help from Dell.
