there is short circuit in motherboard if your adater have small led and if LED off when you inseting power jack that means short circuit in dc to dc controller or VRM section on your motherboard

Already you short out the problem. The problem with your battery. may be its short by internaly.Submit to that to service center.

You need to install the motherboard driver so that the sound are functioning. If your motherboard driver is lost you can download driver here the site that i can provide.

if nothing is happening and the light is not lighten up for wireless, try reinstalling the software that came with the laptop for the wireless side of things. if you goto start settings control panel. or start and control panel. then goto network conections and in the list of conections look for the wireless card. if its off it will say disabled in grey under it. right click it and say enabled this will turn it on. if it dont right click it and goto properties and then on the wireless tab theres an option in there to turn off and on. hope this helps in some way.

You may have a defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashes on and off or displays reddish pink hue. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickers on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replace the CCFL lamp.
To determine if the video card or the LCD is faulty, connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight. It could be a faulty inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out; usually the CCFL lamp fails before the inverter.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

right click on the main window and go to property and select the setting that match your system

did you check the type of RAM you are inserting maybe the RAM is not compatible
a ram has many specifications including the frquency at which it works

so check if you got the right ram for the laptop
the frequncy is something like 533, 800 Mhz so see the one you had originally and get the one required for the laptop

shift + 2 will produce the @ symbol

Remove the AC Power amd remove the battery..... Press and hold the POwer button in the "ON" position for 20 seconds and let go.

add the ac Power Only and press the power button this should turn on the laptop.

If this does not work you can try reseating the Memory dimms as well

the proper driver has an error and needs to be reinstalled.
If you have it, reinstall the driver with the disc, if not go to compaq.com and download from there.

Last resort(I have done this), go to ebay and search for a driver disc for your comp, usually costs about $8.00

The simplest way is this..
Right Click on Desktop > Properties > Settings Tab > Here you will see all the supported Resolutions (If you got the updated Driver).
Note: Nx6310 supports 1024x768 max, if you are still on it, and want more, its not possible.

most of the time manufacturers ship laptops with software just in case you purchase the optional bluetooth

You can disable bios security passwords by disabling them. Go to bios by pressing F2 at splashscreeen. Find administrative passwords and then disable. You will need to enter the password to disable.

If the password you speak of is not in the bios but the windows. Go to control panel, users and remove password.

You can only format re writable CD/DVD.

You will need to remove the bios battery from the laptop (not the main battery) for one hour. replace it and try to reboot. if no good, contact HP
