How to you remove the dvd drive on a hp compaq
It will be held in place by a single screw. This can either be on the bottom of the machine just behind the drive (towards the center of the base) or under the keyboard.
Once the screw is undone, turn the laptop on, hit eject on the drive so it pops open, turn off the laptop and fully extend the tray - once the screw is removed it should slide nicely out.
Power pasword problem
the only way to remove it that I know of is to remove the bios battery and leave it out for a while and then replace it. The only problem with this is that the battery is soldered to the motherboard. The motherboard would have to be removed and taken somewhere to have this done

Yes. What you need is a bootdisk for DOS 6.22, and a CD Drive.
The bootdisk can be found online, just google it. Then use your preferred buring tool to write the files. Then boot with it in your laptop.
ALL DATA WILL BE LOST. There is now way around it.
the computer will say starting Ms-Dos.
type format c: /s
Hit enter
THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA
Then once it is finished, restart your system with the windows CD in it. Install windows.
If you do not have the cd, i recommend getting one, you need it.
Laptop Screen goes blank
Are you running on battery or AC? Try using the power cord, remove the battery and see if it continues. I have seen a battery that is on its last legs do some weird things to a computer. Also, check your power management setting. Control panel, power, and set the computer to "always on" just to see if it could be a power management setting. If none of this works, i would back up all your files, and try to reload win xp from scratch.
My Compaq nc6320 was damaged and I think I got cheated on repair
if you remove your current hd you do not lose any memory as far as I know and you can later access it if you have the necessay cables to either connect it to a desktop or laptop..I am 99.9% sure that you can do it for desktops but I can remember seeing anything for laptops..Google and ebay would help to solve this..
Graphics Card buying help
Hi,
First of all you cannot change the graphics card in a laptop computer, they are integrated.
There aren't any external video cards for laptop gaming yet. There is a
standard for removable laptop video cards called MXM, but few laptops
actually use it.
This is the concept for an external video card >>>>
http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060802-7409.html Unfortunately these devices cost a fortune (well over $100)
In conclusion if you wanted to up grade your graphics card you would
need to purchase a new laptop with the graphics card you want.
Alien ware laptops come highly recommended.
