what does that mean. i click it and it show software installation.
Boot up into safe mode by turning off your laptop, turn it back on then continue to hit F8 until you get a option to boot into safe mode. Once logged in
Go into msconfig and disable RUNFBI then reboot the machine, that FBI gui **** runs from a APPZIP folder on your C:. Delete that folder. You can get to msconfig by clicking on the start button, go run, then type in msconfig, go to the start up tab then uncheck the RUNFBI and click apply ok then restart.
Once you've disabled the RUNFBI your laptop should run like normal.

Hello there..After reformating my notebook V3000, i cant use my bluetooth device, pls help.
If you are using the Preinstalled version of Windows using the Recovery Disks or Recovery partition, you should be having the Bluetooth drivers.
However, you can download the drivers for the Bluetooth Hardware in your Notebook from the links provided below for Vista and XP :
Bluetooth hardware drivers for XP :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34001-34500/sp34264.exe
Bluetooth hardware drivers for Vista :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34001-34500/sp34275.exe
Note : If the Notebook is not having a Bluetooth hardware and by installing the Drivers, you may find a Bluetooth icon in the Taskbar and this doesnot mean that you have Bluetooth hardware in the Notebook

Computer worked fine 2 days ago then turned it on and it stopped at the compaq logo. down at bottom left of screen gave choice of boot order or f10. per Hp tech have reseated memory, re-seated harddrive, drained battery and set bios to default. When i do a hard drive test in bios is says ide device not detected. Tech person said to send puter in for them to check. said will cost 298.00. Economy sad don't have that kind of money. Any other help? Running windows vista. Came with ie but upgrated to vista a year ago- working fine since until 2 nights ago. If let it sit at logo icon it finally goes to blank screen with blinking curser in upper left but won't go any further. PLease, PLease help. Can't get into safemode by tapping f8. Am ready to pull out hair.
If the BIOS is not detecting your hard drive, then there are two possible suspects here. Could just be your hard drive or it also be your motherboard.
If you have already reseated your hard drive and memory and the symptoms are still the same, then go to the nearest local computer shop that sells HP. Have them try a known-good hard drive on your system. If it works, purchase a new hard drive. If it doesn't work, your mobo needs to be replaced.

wenever i uncheck this iiiii from the startup list in msconfig but on rebooting it gets checked again.on inserting any pendrive its making i ii iii folders.plzzz help soon
iiiii is a virus program that transfers to the system through the USB
devices. It keeps on hanging the OS at startup because it is pin at
startup area of the OS.
Alternnatively, you can remove it
by using a software that can bring out all the startup programs. The
root of iiiiiiii.exe is in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\XP6880
9.
You can simply locate the root and get it deleted completely. Hold
shift before deleting. Then empty the recycle bin and restart.
Good Luck

unable to boot compaq presario v3000
First when you power up press F2 or "del" key to enter in bios then load optimal defaults.
Then go to advanced and set "SATA disabled"
then save all settings then check .
Also check your harddisk is detected or not.
Let me know sir.

The touchpad itself works, but the mouse buttons on the bottom of the touchpad on my Comaq Presariou don't work.
Might need to take it apart and clean them. Did you spill something in there? Also make sure your mouse properties are set right click speed etc) in Control Panel. Can you double-tap the touchpad to make selections.
