Acer Aspire 5000 Notebook - Page 5 Questions & Answers
When i turn on laptop,
Good Day.
The problem usually happens due to a bad/fault battery. A battery can get faulty over the course of time. If the laptop(battery) is old, kindly try replacing it. That can solve the problem.
Hope I helped with the repair of your problem.
An Accept from you is how I get paid.
And a positive feed back tells me how I did with the repair.
Regards,

Computer won't start up
Hello,
That clicking sound you hear is probably from your Hard Drive,
You can fix it by buying and intalling the hardrive and a new windows operating system.
this happens if your acer 5000 came in contact with a strong magnet or drop, or just plain hardware error.
Thank you for using Fixya!
Hi my headphone jack stoped working on my acer
Typicaly when a headphone jack stops working it means that there is a hardware issue. Check to see if you get sound from the PC under normal circumstances, (without headphones). If so... Your headphone jack may have come lose from the main board. In this case it will need to be taken to a shop to be re-soldered to the board, or just replaced with a new one. If you do not get sound even from the standard speakers, it very well could be a software issue, (currupted driver, etc.). In this case. Go to your PC's support page on the web and try re-installing the driver for your sound device.

Acer aspire 5010 bugged fan
as for aspire products, that would be part of the aspire 5000 series.
if your processor is getting that hot often its probably overheating. theres probably some dust bunnies in the fan or the fan pipes. try dusting it out and see if that solves the problems. you generally shouldnt have to alter the fan speeds at all because they are temperature controlled.
try resetting the bios to defaults if some how the fan settings were changed to funny values. it should definately be kicking in sooner than that.
Have an acer 5000 which no longer turns on.
try it without the battery and see if that makes a difference. do any lights come on when its plugged in or when power buttons are pressed? how did you have the battery checked?
Acer aspire 5000
I believe if you hit either f10, f11 or f12 when the system firsts starts up (just keep hitting them) it should run the system restore program there..it loads up the hidden recovery partition so no discs are needed.
if the system boots into windows, run the eRecovery software and tell it to restore to factory defaults.
as for the 2nd guy, aslong as the disc you are using is the same version as what is on the laptop (check the license key on the bottom of the laptop) if should work.
Hi, my laptop, aspire 5000,
sounds like a bad cd drive and you'll probably have to replace it..some things to try...uninstall the drive through the device manager and reboot the pc...also google up the lower filter fix and run that and see if it helps.

No desktop Icons
Troubleshooting first:
- does it start? Yes: go to its BIOS and set your CD drive to be the first one to boot. Read the screen menu on what to press to enter BIOS or read manual. No: Check your power supply if it is properly plugged and the battery for it might be loose.
- does it display your windows start button? Yes: right click on the display and select arrange icons by: then select "show desktop icons". No: your computer might not have proper boot up. need to restore and follow the above solution.
Acer Aspire 5000 was dropped and won't power on
Hi there, I'm afraid that a physical damage affected your laptop.
But anyways, unplug the power cord, and remove the battery. Wait few seconds then push the power button and hold it for 10/15 seconds. Re insert the battery and reconnect the power cord and try to turn it on again.
Good luck
Can't get on internet with laptop
Yes the printer is in the correct place. The wireless printer may have messed up the IP addresses. That would cause you not to be able to connect to the Internet. Do this and then let me know what happens, I'll be hear another 2 hours are so; it 8:42 EST U.S.; if you have not restarted since the install do that first; your router is supposed to pick up and IP address automatically. If you still can't get on the internet then do this: click on start>run>type in cmd in nthe box; this will take you to the DOS prompt. At the prompt type in c:\ to get to the c:> prompt. Then type in ipconfig/release then wait a minute then type in ipconfig /renew. That will release your IP addresses then get new ones as the printer will need one also.... Good luck let me know how it turns out.
Dell inspiron 5160 usb port trouble
Remove the drivers then shut down your computer wait 30 secs then turn it on.Windows will reinstall the drivers. They may have become corrupted. If they still won't work try updating the drivers! You can try updating the drivers first and if that doesn't work ,do the remove and restart your computer! To remove or un- install the drivers right click on "My Computer" and select properties.then device manager.Finf the usb ports and uninstall them then restart your computer!
Each component in your laptop as an IRQ adress if you have installed any hardware recently it may have taken over your USB's IRQ address.go to the control panel click on system peformance then performance and maintenance.when you are on this you should see about six tabs at the top of the window click on hardware then go to device manager at the left hand side of your screen you should see the words IRQ addresses, make sure that your USB ports have a IRQ address assigned to them.only use IRQ addresses which arent being used by other components,i know it sounds complicated but print this out and take your time..
If its a hardware problem, replacing the USB sockets may not be enough, considering they all went at the same time, I would say its a problem on the mother board. Something might have fused with the heat. Laptops have a real problem keeping cool because they are so compact.
Is it still under warranty? Return to vendor. If not claim under home contents insurance, you may have to be creative on the claim form. "It may have been from a power spike or something."
