I find the wifi
Turn on your computer and locate the Wi-Fi icon.
This could be located on the upper row on a laptop it will have the radiation look (((ยท)))
Make sure its pressed on.
The internet connection is located in the system tray in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
The icon looks like a series of rectangles that increase in size from left to right.
Right-click the Wi-Fi icon and select "Connect to a network." You will see a list of available wireless networks.
Choose a Wi-Fi network you want to connect to and select "Connect."
Enter the password into the password text box if a password is required.
If a password is not required, you will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network.
Click "OK."
Hope this helps.

Forgot password for my laptop compaq armada 1750
You can't enter the laptop until it has Guest Account Enabled. It is surely disabled. And for that Forgotten Password, try to remember that do you have any other user on that laptop. If yes, then log into on behalf of that user and change the password of yours by accessing the User Account Page in the Control Panel. This way you need not have to remember the Password of that account. And if you don't have any other administrator, then try a Hard Reset. You can do it by De-attaching every internal and external Attachable part of the Laptop.
Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

Accessing bios
Some Compaq's actually have a partition on the hard drive for the BIOS. If someone
> used FDISK to remove the partition, then you won't be able to get into the BIOS

>utility on it. One of Compaq's disks will re-create the partition, but of course,

HI there i need to
You may need to contact Compaq and ask for a hard copy of the manual.
They are the only people i know who can solve this unless you buy one of eBay etc.
the downloadable on is just as good isn't it? and it's free.
So i reckon contact Hp/Compaq and ask for it or download it!
Laptop display problem
Actually I got distracted, and moved on to other projects, however I believe you can get support for the product from HP's website. I believe it was a driver problem, If I could find a CD rom and boot disk, what I would do is load Win 95 from a formatted HD then upgrade to Win 98, then upgrade again to XP or whatever your looking to use. The main problem I seemed to have was that 98 didn't have the driver or even recognize the CD Rom ( even though it was working ) so I couldn't load any video drivers. I dug it out to give it another go but again seem to have other stuff to do.
Don't know what to do !
connect external monitor to see if adapter is ok. If external monitor comes on OK,(check to see if the FN+F5 or another key has to be toggled for external display) then shine flashlight on screen to see if Icons are visible. If the Icons are visible LCD inverter would have to be replaced. If external monitor works and Icons are not visible lcd is probably no good, If external monitor does not work then Video adapter is bad.
Startup Problem
On the 1750 the setup bios settings are held on the hard drive, if you cant get any further I would suggest the drive is dead.
I have a 2 hand
Best thing for you to do is reinstall windows from scratch. I don't recommend you to use windows 98 b/c its not very secure and you won't be able to use USb2 without additional drivers.
go to the bios and change the boot order to cdrom first then reinstall windows XP with the minimum items on it and it will make your life much easier.
visit the comaq site to get the drivers you will need although since its a fairly old machine windows xp should have most of the drivers for it.
good luck
smeags.
