unplug the dryer and check the ignitor, the sensor and the thermal fuse located on the blower wheel housing, also if the dryer works correctly for the first 15 to 30 minutes then will not ignite again you have bad gas coils, also if the ignitor glows but flame doesn't lite most likely it's the coils, while your in there vac out the dryer, the duct where the lint filter slides into and if the vent line is long blow it out with a leaf blower

You should check the thermal fuse or thermal cut-off

Try vacuuming out the intake and exhaust vents for the burner. Lint collected there can block the burner operation. Hope this helps!

make sure the top is not bent down

Whirlpool... | Answered on Jun 16, 2010

Remove top back of dryer that houses all the switches, remove screws in lint catcher area on top of dryer. Remove screws that are attached to clamps at back of dryer that hold top on. Top should now slid forward for you to remove. At the top of front cover on the backside of it, you need to remove screws that hold on the front cover. Then slide it up for removal. Hold drum or it will fall off. Gas coils are at bottom of dryer.

sounds like one of the safety sensors is doing it's job correctly.
I would open the front panel of your machine and remove all lint buildup inside the machine by using a vacuum. Be sure to unplug your machine prior to doing so.
Also, this could be caused by the vent duct being restricited or plugged up. Take the 4" diameter duct loose from the back of the machine and make sure it's not blocked.
Then retest your machine.

A dryer either heats or not heat . You have a vent blockage or vent hose kink . Pull the dryer out and remove the vent hose . Dry a load and see if it drys ok . If so , check the vent if it goes thru the wall to outside , or if goes up thru the ceiling , may have to get a cleaner ( line and brush ) at Home Depot .

your pilot need to be check , most likely it is old and need to be change.
if it is old it will go on but not strong to signal the gas to kick in so it just go on for a few second and then when it feal no gas it turn off.
if your gas supplay is good then thats your problem the ignitor (pilot) good luck
