F3 on Whirlpool dishwasher ADP7949

F3 error fault codeThe heating cycle is not working. The error is indicated after several electronic checks are done over a 25 minute period. Therefore if the heater heats too slowly or the heater is open circuit or indeed the electronic control PCB is defective, each of these will indicate F3. The twist is, if the NTC is fluctuating in its reading it also can indicate F3 and not F1.

My dishwasher smells like rotten eggs. Help!

Had a similar problem and started looking around inside the door. I tried to figure out how to remove the plastic air vent cover on the inside of the door (left side). I couldn't figure out how to remove it. So, we purchased a dishwasher cleaner at Lowe's ($4) and tired running it through the machine to see if it would correct the odor problem. It didn't. Somehow the "little lady" did manage to remove it (used a damn table knife of all things) twisted and popped the plastic air vent off. When it was removed she found the obvious problem, black foul smelling mold was growing under the plastic air vent that was radiating its terrible smell into the kitchen through the dishwasher door kitchen side vent . She cleaned the inside vent and the odor problem has left. I guess I'll never live this down, but I must admit that my wife solved the problem. Try this solution and see if it solves your problem. Let us know how you make out!

My dishwasher stinks like eggs

If the unit is not draining completely you may get a smell. I would use Affresh in the unit and see if this gets rid of it. If not, it might be an issue with your water. Do you have well water? Sulfur in the well water can sometimes cause this issue.

We have whirlpool ADP5540 DW.

Hi.

The cycle is not going back. The pre-rinse and start lights flashing are a fault code.

If the machine is flashing 7 times the code is a flow meter failure. The flow meter is located behind the panel at the left of the appliance. Its function is measuring the water that is getting into the appliance.

Here the code description:

7 Flashes--Flow meter failure. Flow meter defect. Water inlet valve defect or water inlet hose blocked

First try resetting the appliance.

Disconnect power. Move the machine forward and check the inlet hose and the pressure from the house. If there is nothing in there disconnect power and remove the panel at the left. Check flow-meter and filling chamber. Check flow meter contact. Check inlet valve and replace the flow meter if that does not help and all the rest is OK.

Regards.

Ginko

My whirlpool washer part no.387298

The water valve under the unit could be stuck, one test you could perform is to unplug the dishwasher to see if the valve is the problem. when you remove electricity from the unit it should close he valve. if it remain open, its jammed and would need to be replaced. Hope this helps. I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gere_bf68e6055dd61249

F3 displayed on a ADP5966

F3 indicates a Heating System Defect.
Heater or relay on control board defect.
Also check cabling.

These machines are notorious for bad connections.

The control board can also suffer from corrupt software. The eprom can be reprogrammed with the right equipment.

Our dishwasher is leaving residue

Try not and over fill the machine when placing dishes inside. Have enough room for plates and such. Can be the entire motor is failing, or your maybe over filling the trays.

My dishwasher starts humming in middle of cycle

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Either of these two things can cause this problem: first is the timer motor, if the sound is coming from the control then the timer needs replacement. If the humming comes from the bottom of the unit then it is the motor that needs replacement. When the motor won't work you usually hear humming sound and replacing the motor is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
