Nothing lights up or runs

Take off the front lower panel with a screwdriver. After dishwasher is unplugged, open up the junction box with a screwdriver. If the cord was under-sized, it may have burned up on the black wire. This just happened to me. Dishwasher stopped mid-cycle and then there was no power. Needs a higher gauge cord. Was 16/3. Needs 14/3.

My dishwasher DU930 will not pump out the water.

Hi,

The clog is usually in the check valve if it is in the machine. The most common place for a clog outside the machine is the connection to the disposer under the sink if it has a disposer.

I have included a couple of pictures here, the first shows the pump assembly with the arrow pointing to the check valve, this valve is visible from under the dishwasher by taking the toe panel off. The check valve will unscrew but beware water will come out so have some towels ready.

The second picture shows a breakdown that will aid in getting the balls back in the proper place, the link is the service manual for the pump.

Let me know if you have questions.

Dishwasher not starting

There is a thermal fuse located in the control panel that is probably blown out.
Open the control panel by removing the 6 screws around the top inside of the door. The thermal fuse is located on the top right side. Remove the wires from the fuse. Use a volt neter set for continuity to test the fuse. No reading is a bad fuse.
This link will show the fuse.

Regular cycle no longer cleans well

Thanks for the clarification (we get a lot of people on here that don't know how to really use a dishwasher).

Sounds to me like the DW may need a through going over.

Confirm the make and model of the DW so I can see how it's built. I am suspect that with all the food particles and film you mention, that the spray heads are clogged in the spray bars, and, check that the drain hose is not kinked, and it's attachment into the garbage disposal is clear. I've had these clog before, limiting the ability of the DW to get rid of the dirty water.

My dishwasher made some really

One of the most common question that I get on a dishwasher repair is "how does that motor and pump impellor screw come out?"
Inside many dishwasher pump assemblies is a screw that goes through the upper impellor and screws directly into the motor shaft. Since the motor shaft and screw are made of metal...you guessed it...they can / will rust. The screw can rust and become very tight and difficult to remove!! These screws are normally a right ( regular ) hand thread, socket or nut driver can be used to remove the screw. One hard thing to do is to hold the impellor still so the screw can be removed, they often just turn together. The impellor may be jammed with a screwdriver to hold it still so the screw can be removed...sometimes the impellor can be help still by placing a rag on it and hold tight with your hand, the rag will help prevent a sharp edge on the impellor from cutting your fingers. The odd time that screw is too rusted into place, soaking a little rust buster or 3in1 oil on it over night may help loosen it. Sometimes trying to tighten the screw a little at first will help break it free. There are some tool ( see below ) that can be purchased to help hold the impellor still so the screw can be removed, these are only for a few models and pump assembly styles.
WLP seal tool helps center and install the pump seal
Once the screw is removed, the next obstacle is the impellor can also get stuck onto the motor shaft. Many times I have to break off the old impellor. A sharp blow straight down with a hammer and flat screwdriver will often crack the plastic impellor...carefulnot to damage the pump body! If the motor shaft has indeed rusted, clean it up really good with sand cloth.
---------------
dishwasher will not fill with water: This is often the fill valve. You can test the fill valve coil for continuity with a ohm meter, no needle movement = bad fill valve. You can also test the fill valve for 120 volts at the fill valve with a volt meter, power there and no fill = bad fill valve. No 120 volts there, you will have to trace power back to find the trouble maker. Test things like the float and float switch, wires and timer. Fill valves are very bad for working once or twice and then quitting, if your dishwasher fills the first and second fill cycles and then no more water through the rest of the cycle, replace the fill valve. You will need to remove the access panels to get at the fill valve. Dishwasher fill valves also have a screen built into the valve entrance, this can also get all clogged up and need to be cleaned. -------
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution if helped.thank you for using fixya.

Water drains out during wash cycle

it's being sucked out by siphoning through your sewer pipe .Probably a siphon problem . Check your drain hose to make sure hose is not stuffed too far down drain and air can get between the hose and the drain pipe . If you have tapped the hose to the drain to keep water from coming out the drain pipe , go to home depot or an appliance parts house , and get a siphon break . When a washer fills , but water level doesn't rise in the machine ,
