I have dell latitude d600 that start for 2 or 3 seconds and then turn off

The problem maybe the RAM, it could be faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact. Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.

I have a dell latitude D610 laptop that has a 1.73 processor and

Without a real comfort of electrical engineering, you can not replace the processor of a laptop. They are soldered directly onto the motherboard.

What you can try (and I do not reccomend) is to overclock your processor, ie: force it to run faster than it says it can (they are over engineered). Problems doing this can range from extremely hot processors to full irreversable malfunction of your laptop. ie: it will be broken forever.

Some sites says that your Dell D610 can not be overclocked, but if you google: overclock dell latitude D610 you can browse through the results.

Again, unless you are REALLY comfortable doing this and understand that it will most likely 1) void your warranty and 2) possibly destroy your laptop, then dont do it.

Won't accept AC

A couple things to check. In most cases the AC adapter itself fails and needs to be replaced.
  1. If there is another D series AC adapter available, try the system with it and see if the system works. If it does, replace the AC adapter.
  2. If no known good adapter is available, see if the AC adapter is putting out around 19 Volts DC at the connector that would normally plug into the system (Ground is outside of plug, + is the inside not the pin in the center) If you have no power detected, replace the adapter.
  3. If the LED on the AC adapter is not on when disconnected from the system but plugged into the wall, replace the adapter.
  4. If the LED goes out when plugged into the system or the DC jack on the system is loose, then you most likely need the jack replaced or the motherboard replaced both are about $100

Can get my games to work

you might not have enough computer ram if the games are using lots of graphics (animation) Laptops are a great way to play games without being tied down to sitting in one place the entire time. However, depending on what is already on the computer and how much room and power a game requires, a laptop can be sluggish and not operate at its full capacity. Several easy and inexpensive options can be used to improve how a computer functions, helping games to run better at the same time. Place the laptop on a flat, hard surface such as a table. Laptops generate heat, and that heat can affect how fast a game operates. Set a magazine or book underneath the laptop if using it on your lap. Close programs that are not being used before starting a game. This includes other games or spreadsheets, which use a lot of power. The more programs running, the slower the computer will operate. Push "Control+Alt+Delete" to close programs manually. Defragment the hard drive once a month to improve the computer's speed and operations. Select the "Start" button from the bottom left of the computer screen. Select "Computer" from the list of options. Right-click using the mouse on the hard drive icon and select "Properties" at the bottom of the drop-down menu. Select "Tools" from the top of the box, and select "Defragment Now." Depending on how long it has been since the last time the computer was defragmented, this could take some time. Remove unused programs and files from the computer's hard drive. Large files such as photos and videos take up a lot of space. Move this to a back-up hard drive or copy photos to a compact disc. That way, this files will not be lost, just moved from the main hard drive. Scan the computer for viruses daily. Viruses can not only damage a computer, but also slow it down. Install an anti-virus software program that will regularly check for threats. These programs can also use computer resources, so close the program before running a game. Dust off the laptop every few weeks. Dust and air particles can clog vents on the laptop, restricting circulation. This can cause the equipment to run slower than it should. Press windows button and in the search type msconfig go to startup tab and uncheck those you dont want to start. scroll to the bottom toolbar bottom of screen right click you can select task manager applications also processes you will see whats running on your computer and ticking over you might have a virus http://www.majorgeeks.com/Microsoft_Security_Essentials_for_Windows_d6242.html microsoft security essentials your operating system must be registered Win7/Vista/XP 64 bit http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=4281&file=1&evp=dbb3b0aebe6a6a4ff18089a6489a5e62 anti malware free edition Win XP/2003/Vista/Windows7 if you see something running that you does not need to be running select end now then you might you might uninstall that particular program and some unnecessary programs you should also check leads from motherboard to hard drive for secure dust free connections click start control panel administrative tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start tick in both boxes this will schedule to on restart do not have any input while chkdsk utility is in progress any might damage your computer also you might download and use this registry cleaner it is totally free to use http://download.cnet.com/ccleaner/ then defragment your hard drive adding more ram is the best way of speeding up a computer If youre not sure if a module is right for your system use the Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules you should always ask for a guarantee on compatibility before purchasing any ram and buy working pairs if possible you might have to many programs running at the same time putting to much strain on the CPU central processing unit try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs This tool deletes unnecessary or temporary files on your hard disk so you can increase the amount of storage space you have.
